List of 60 degree bolt throws

I have been able to shoot almost every rifle listed one time or another. A lot of which were on a range with the companies respected Reps. All the short throw bolts I heard all day long about it, and how it is better.

I have never been able to tell the difference between a 60 degree or a 90 degree "in the heat of the moment" Like others have started if anything the 90 degree is easier because it requires LESS force.. once you hit the force needed to operate it, momentum is doing the rest of the work for you, whether its 60* or 90*.

TO ME, it is more more important for a bolt to glide smoothly in the action, pick up a Remington 770 and than pick up their new 783... even in cheap guns like those there is a shockingly big difference. A sticky bolt drives me insane, I could care less about the bolt throw.

BAT 3 lug. They address the bolt lift issue by placing a roller on the cocking piece to engage the camming surface in the bolt body. A fantastic piece of machinery.

The Sako A7 is also 70 degrees and slick and snug. Different bolt and lug design than the Tikka T3 but also very smooth.

Many rifle brands have a slight hitch like a change in camming surface where the bolt handle transitions from lifting to rearward. I noticed this recently at a gun shop on Rem 700, Ruger American andceven Browning A-Bolt. The Tikka and Sakos all have zero transition hitch and are smooth in the entire bolt unlocking, cocking and draw back.
