Lightweight .308 instead of AR?

well you're not crazy but if you want light and semi auto in a .308 why don't you try a krebs ak-108, looks to me to be a winner!

Edward429451,

I am looking at an ADL myself for a poor man scout rifle. I also was looking at the Williams sights as replacements for the Rem. stock sights. Did you get just the rear peep and it works with the stock front sight? Also, I assume you unscrewed the stock rear sight and removed it. What do you do with the screw holes????

Thanks and regards, -Coop

No second thoughts, Remington 700P LTR in .308.

For an autoloader as reliable as a boltgun and as accurate, HK SL7 Carbine. Soft recoil and accurate. Quick change scope feature allows irons, red-dot, or real scope. Oh, did I say soft recoil and very accurate!

:D

It looks like you already know the answer to your own question. If a bolt action .308 is what you are most comfortable with, it is also what you will perform best with. Just look for the little blue helmets in your scope!

A Browning A-Bolt Micro Hunter in .308-----accurate---small and handy---lightweight---60 degree bolt uplift----clip fed----dull finished stock and metalwork----adjustable trigger-----Here is where I stir up the hornets nest---I have owned 3 Model 700's and none of them would get better than a 3' to 4' group and my buddy just got rid of an Alaskan Wilderness Rifle that wouldn't hit the broadside of a barn---stay away from that Remington junk---the only thing they are selling is the name.

Might I suggest a semi-dark horse in this thread? Tikka Battue in .308. I have yet to hear a single negative (except perhaps availability) about the Tikkas. My All-Weather is a reliable 0.5 MOA rifle with GA Match ammo and a Weaver V16.

Get an SVD! 30-06 ballistics, semiauto rifle that can take alot of abuse, good batle accuracy, cheap ammo. What else do you want?
