LIGHTER and lighter Handguns

quote:
I hate to break this to you, but Titanium, although lighter than steel, is heavier than Aluminum. [/quote]

The weight difference between the old aluminum-framed snubbies and the new titanium-framed snubbies is due to the fact that the older pistols had steel barrels and cylinders which accounted for much of their weight. Replacing these steel parts with titanium is what has allowed S&W and Taurus to get their snubbies under 12 ounces.

I have a Taurus UL model 85 multialloy, which is part titanium. This gun is ported and has fairly mild recoil. It is also easy to get on target. I also have a couple of glocks I carry, plus a taurus ti 44 spcl. All these guns have their place in concealed carry, figuring out the most effective means of carrying them should be the goal.

45King, I'm not sure but I think that fairy dust and spider webs can go through airport metal detectors unnoticed, and threfore will be banned. :(

Weight is simply a personal preference thing.

I like metal guns, even if I'm forced by circumstance to carry an itty-bitty-sized one.
(Wife carries a S&W M38. Hmmm.)
