Life of stored Ammo??

I have used WWII ammo for years with no failures. Most of it was 30-06. Some was 45acp still loaded in magazines. All of it worked fine. And the 45 magazine springs showed no sign of weakening! The only ammo that has had failures is military 38 spcl from the Vietnam War era. Several misfires. One squib load while shooting in country during the war (not a nice thing) Had to get a new revolver for that. No injuries.

However I use fresh ammunition in my carry guns.

Bought cans of steel cased U.S. .45 from WW2 and it shot great, bought cans of soviet 7.62X54, and it was breaking down to the point it had corroded through the sides of the case.So it's a crap shoot,American manufactured probably no problem, but ex soviet block you just don't know of the manufacturing controls, and it's storage for 65+ years.
