Thanks for the support, everyone. It means a lot. Remember that I'm hardly alone in this: John AZ and El Jefe have worked extremely hard to make these sites what they are. Clearly, they're making a difference.
We all know that we can count on the Members here for contributions of time and money. As for the time, spread the word about this First Amendment battle. Reference the three sites with info on the fight in your conversations with others on the net. Point them up to sympathetic news organizations.
As for the money: We're betting that we can match HCI dollar for dollar. We're willing to bet a lot.
However, we know there are many of you who would like a piece of this battle and you each deserve it. We've discussed accepting donations of no more than $10 to accomplish that, but I keep voting it down: we're not geared up to accept or account for donations; we're not a tax deductible organization; and, most important, we need to be able to take this in any direction we think suitable without conscience issues about how we're spending your money.
So consider your offer of dollars akin to the concept of "Battalion Reserve" in a battle. The security of having it to fall back on grants us greater flexibility to maneuver and counter-attack on the front lines. Your support means much to each of us.
