Libertarian vs Constitution Party

Okay, I've decided.

I'll register Independent. I lose the ability to influence the primaries, but I can choose the candidate I want. I think politicians take a little more notice of the opinions and comments of a "wildcard" voter, but that's just a guess.

I will vote Constitution or Libertarian when available, Republican when necessary (like this November). Never, ever will I vote Democrat, Reform, or Green.

Longshot, if you register Libertarian, you will still be able to vote in the primaries as long as thre is a Libertarian primary in your state. (We had our first in NC this year -- the Lib nomination for governor was contested.)

I vote for Libertarians if they're on the ballot, and Republicans otherwise. I will never again vote for any candidate with the dreaded Satanic sign (D) after his name.

I think we all need to set asside a day in wich we spend our time participating in the political process. Helping with campaigns, writing our "reps", donating to GOA & NRA, etc.

If we mark such a day on our planning boards I believe we would be a little more active.

Changed my mind (I feel like Algore, version 6.21). I registered Libertarian today, as did my wife. I hope it makes a difference.

Longshot:

Good decision. I'm also a Libertarian, but for the first time in years I will be voting Republican. To me, sixteen years of Clinton-Gore is more than this country can take. There is NO chance that a third party candidate will win nationally. Locally, I will probably vote Libertarian where possible.

Congratulations Longshot and welcome to the "Party of Self Government". Vote your heart and your values. If it tells you to side with Bush in this very important election, then so be it. There is no such thing as a wasted vote as some here will tell you. The ones we should despise are the ones that will not vote at all. Apathy destroys all that is good!
Be an activist. Join your state organization and locate your county chair. Get involved!! It is very rewarding to make a difference.
