Liberal rag paper gives TFL a nod

Have read the rag's writeup and opinion is that isn't so much a nod as it is acknowledgement of our existence as a forum - and they even inferred that we had a Chat room.

Stand down from the parapets.
 
I didn't mean to imply that the Post views this forum in a favorable light. After all, this is the same paper that ran an editorial just two days previously calling gun owners "Alley Oop cavemen" if they opposed a mandatory trigger lock proposal, then insisted the county should "require even more secure storage".

This is also the paper that brought such memorable recent gaffes as the "amphibian silencer"(you use frogs for what?), the "Remington 700mm rifle"(mine's bigger than yours), and the "SIG-Sauer P220 .45-caliber semi-automatic revolver"(so close, and yet, so far).

But I found it somewhat astonishing that a Post writer would know even know of, much less be willing to cite, a forum such as TFL. And if it brings in just one person with an open mind or a desire for more knowledge to this forum, so much the better.

Perhaps even another Miss Demeanors will wander in! (Sotto voce: Hope you're feeling better, ma'am.)

You can blame or praise me on this one guys, I'm the guy quoted as "growing up hunting". I posted my impending conversation with Eunice in the Legal and Political a week ago for help. If you check out Cox news and follow the links you can find her on line at their Washington bureau. I read several of her articles on guns and came to the conclusion that she at least presents a part of our side (unlike many in the press)I just wish she had put a little more of our side into this one. I doubt that she could if she wanted to with the editorial control excerted by that newspaper. I found her quotes from Mr. Sugarmann of VPC interesting indicating that "most homicides are the result of arguments between people who know each other and who purchase guns legally". Wow, we've been wrong all these years in believing that criminals were. Anyway, I am sorry that more of my take on this one wasn't allowed to be published. Johnbt, that was a great idea! Send her a shirt with our complements (send me the bill). I also agree that if just one person reads that rag and checks out some of the links provided here that maybe (where's that barf smiley when you need it)we can save just one liberal mind! If not, I just hung my b^tt out there for nothing,(I'm suprised she didn't publish my phone#). Anyway, If you guys want to string me up the line has already started! I don't have any of those fancy toys you other guys have but I'll try to make a good accounting of myself! Ken

There is a member over on AR15 that attends a college whose newspaper has a weekly column featuring snips taken from their site. It is a liberal paper. They take statements out of context........and ocassionally in context and use them to illustrate the anti point of view. They name the site (AR15) as there sourse yet had never notified the site owner they were doing this. (This is one of the main reasons that I was quite vocal about some of the discussions over there a few weeks ago. Discussions, I'm happy to say, that are now well moderated and reflect favorably on the RKBA.) After this I'm sure we will be monitored even more than before and possibly sighted by the liberals if they discover anything to use to their advantage. Which means, in my less than humble opinion, that if we carry on business as usual around here we should make gun owners proud and give credit to the RKBA.

How cleverly they omit the connection between VPC (who favors a ban) and HCI (who say they don't favor a ban, but really do.)

Jimmy, I belive our "clock" started in 1992! I am so pleased that I can be a part of such a group of real Americans. I don't care about the Lurkers "let em eat cake"! Maybe, just maybe one of them will realize just how far they've gone beyond what our forefathers intended this country to be. And maybe, we CAN change an opinion. Anyone who puts up with an SOB can't be all that wrong. PanzerFurer, I owe you an apology! Dennis has shown me the light. E-mail me and I will do so with great haste!
