MEDICGEEK,

Is that a 9 or 40? How is the accuracy and recoil?

Thanks

The TCP is a .380, I know... it's not as potent as a 9mm or .40, but it's been accurate for me shooting 90 Gr. Gold Dots and 90 gr. Fiocchi JHP. Recoil doesn't seem bad for me, but this is my first .380, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Not gonna lie. I didn't even consider the TCP. On the grounds that its a Taurus

I know... I've heard all the stories, but the other 2 didn't have all the features i like in the Taurus... maybe I shouldn't have even looked at the Taurus!! so far so good... I shoot a lot, so I'll know soon enough if it will hold up.

If it makes you feel better, the gun store offered to trade my 24/7 CDS + $175 for a Springfield Mil-spec 1911 that I've had my eyes on.

what are those pen looking things? nice stuff guys. no pics but i carry a taurus 24/7 pro .45 in a 20 dollar uncle mikes IWB and a benchmade or a nice little spyderco

My everyday summer carry is one of these, depending on the situation and my mood that day. I live in an open carry state with mild summers, so carrying a small gun isn't really a necessity. Open carry is great in the summer, you never have to worry about hiding the gun in shorts and a t-shirt.

I posted my all weather carry system on this thread the other day... but the thread really gave me the fever! I could definitely use a smaller gun for summer carry. I needed a good excuse to go the gun store! I had it narrowed down to the Taurus TCP, Ruger LCP, and the Kel-Tec P-3AT. I held and played with all 3... and I decided on the TCP because I liked the sights better and I like the fact that it's slide locks back automatically on empty. Any thoughts??

I made the same decision. I went to the store for the Ruger LCP, but came home with the Taurus TCP.

Better sights
Much better trigger
Slide locks open on empty
Felt better in my hand
Black stainless finish

Don't understand all the switcharoo; it takes just as much to bring down a perp in the summer as in the winter. G-19 and SW 642 here. And seeing how crime is worse in hot weather than cold I want to always send the best I have to my antagonist. It kinda breaks the ice, ha.;)

i think in this situation people are thinking any gun is better than none. i know i am less likely to carry my full size .45 in shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops.

Summer is the same as winter. G23 in a cqc Serpa, Peerless cuffs/extra mag in a Fobus, either a S&W auto or a Lightning auto, depending upon mood. Flashlight in every car and on every keyring.

For dress occasions, I do have a Galco Sky (IIRC) tuckable IWB. Lucky for me, lol, that isn't needed very often!

Mine's the same year-round; Glock 26 in a DeSantis TuckThis II IWB rig. I carry one spare mag in the built-in pouch. Both mags are fully loaded with Speer GoldDot HP's. I sometimes stick my Bodyguard 38 in a pocket rig, stick a couple speedloaders in the other pocket (the third's in the truck). I also carry a S&W SOG knife in my backpocket.
