For my own amusement, I tacticooled out my AK:

It looks cool, but sucks function-wise. I like the SAW grip, but will probably figure out a better rail/mini-red dot combo.
 
How can those optics mounted on the gas tube and receiver covers possibly hold a solid zero?
I can't see it...
 
The only AK I have held on to is this elderly Arsenal SA93. Bulgarian, milled receiver, and the most accurate AK I've ever shot.

Because the Ultimak Rail is clamped directly to the barrel.
Look closely at my rifle. You can see the two screws just below the reflex sight. Then the bands that clamp it to the barrel are just visible under the back to "notches" at the top of the lower handguard.

I used to have a EoTech on the rail. Never had any heat issues but it was too heavy. The Trijicon is lighter and dosen't need batteries so its fits the "bomb proof always works" AK mentality better.
 
My rifle is just a "practical" shooter. It looks like crap but it shoots good.


EAJ702, yours is about as pretty as AK's can get. Nice rifle. After market stock? What type of wood?
