1911

1. RIA (Charles Daly)..Two of the four 1911s I have owned have been either RIA or CD, never a problem with either one. My current CD has been my favorite 1911 to date.
2. SA
3. Para
4.Ruger
5.Kimber

No personal experience with 2,3 or 4, based strictly on what others have stated. Hated the cs of Kimber and the fact it's finish was worse then the original finish on my CD. So much for getting what you paid for.


Revolvers

1. Colt..I think Dwight55 nailed this.
2. S&W
3.Ruger
4.Taurus
5.Rossi


Subcompacts

1. Colt...only because of the one's listed, it's the only brand I've had personal experience with.
2. SA
3. Para
4. Walther
5. Kimber

Again, no personal experience with 2,3, or 4. But I won't place Kimber much above anything.
 
OK .. 1911s, I put Kimber first, Springer second ... I own both, the Kimber is far more accurate, both are reliable ...

Revolvers ... Smith first, Ruger second, Taurus at the bottom ... have both Smiths and Taurus models, Smiths are flawless, accurate, smooth and fun to shoot. Taurus, not so much.

As for subcompacts, I put at the top one you left out ... MY EDC is a Kahr, flawless since new ... don't own any of the others, so I can't comment.
