Lemishine

I've read several posts about Lemishine. On the Lemishine site, they show a booster, detergent, rinse, washing machine cleaner, multi-purpose machine cleaner and a disposal cleaner? Which do I use and how much in a wet tumbler. Also, do I want the powder or liquid? I'm considering buying a wet tumbler.

I use the Booster version (1/4 teaspoon) with ArmorAll Wash and Wax (1 tablespoon) in the Frankford tumbler. Seems to work well, I did also buy the Frankford mix and it works well aslo. The LemiShine and detergent seems to get a little more shine and with the ArmorAll I do not get water stains on the brass as I leave the cases on a towel after separating and spinning in a media separator. I leave them overnight with a fan blowing on them.

I just changed to wet tumbler with Stainless Steel Pins . started with the Horber Freight 3 lb. Tumbler 1 lb. Pins , I fill the container 1/2" from the top with water a few squirts of dawn dish detergent. Very little lemishine, makes brass look like new inside & out, adding too much lemiShine can turn the brass a pinkish color, less is better, just a pinch. This is my way of cleaning brass, down the road I will invest in the STM tumbler but for now my HF is just fine.Didn't know lemiShine came in liquid form. Never heard of it until I looked into the wet tumbling.

cwall, I haven't made up my mind about going to a wet cleaning method. Some of the photos loaders are sharing who use pins and a tumbler look like factory new brass. Thanks for the information.

I'll tell you that yes they do get super clean, shiny, and look like new cases - but, it tends to be tedious! I definitely do not wet tumble on every reload cycle... But, if you buy a large quantity of once fired Lake City case dirty it is the best way to get them clean fast (in my opinion)! Cleaning 800-1000 extremely dirty LC 556 case at a time was better to me than tumbling in walnut in smaller batches...

Cleaning with SS pins the brass does look like new, even cleans primer pockets. 2 hours & your done , no dust, no cleaning primer pockets . I just wipe them down leave them in a tray face down to dry, sizing seems much smoother.

Does LemiShine have any application with dry tumbling or just with wet? If so, how would it be used and are we talking liquid or powder? All references seem to be oriented towards wet tumbling.

CW308,

The Home Depot near me only has Lemishine Booster in powder form. You say Lemishine is for wet tumbling. Have you or anyone tried adding to dry media?

One thing that works nice in dry media is just a couple of dashes of Bartenders Helper. This really helps rejuvenate old walnut media, but go light on how much you add, it's fairly aggressive.
