but the new "striker" fired LCP's has a much much better trigger than the older mode

LCPs, Are you sure? I usually get all of Ruger's email announcements, but I must have missed that one! Have you actually seen, and felt one? Or maybe you are thinking of the 9MM LC9s Which I have tried, and has an excellent trigger.

I don't get all the e-mails, but try to stay in the loop... & I think the new LC-9 is the only one I've heard them redoing right now ( on the compact autos ) just bought a new LCR-X which seems pretty nice... but that is for a different section ;)

TCP for the range LCP for conceal carry.

I wouldnt trust my life on a taurus gun. They are fun at the range but not worth my life. IMO Taurus makes so many handguns, copies/clones they lack quality control. I wouldnt mind their pt-22

yes, your right, it was the Lc9, sorry. if the LCP still has the same trigger it did a couple years ago, I would never get one.

i can't swear on these forums because they have retarded rules so i'll just say that although both of these are imminently concealable in a pocket or ankle carry or anywhere else taurus semi autos are junk. i've owned the ruger and the sights and the trigger are absurd. neither is worth owning at any price.

There's nothing "retarded" about not swearing and carrying out civil conversations.

The newer LCPs have larger sights.

you can have a civil conversation and swear. substitute the word "garbage" for any expletive you can image to describe either of these pistols.

they're that bad.

The TCP may be more appealing in the gun shop, but the LCP is the only one of the two I would trust to work when needed.

LCP owner here and couldn't be more pleased. Like others have said....she can be a bit snappy but she can be tamed.

I've been toting around my LCP for ~5 years... I like it a lot for carry and its been reliable.
The LCP was sidelined when I got my PM9 and eventually made its way back iwb and the PM9 was sold off after gathering dust (and I really like the PM9)

Do any of the tiny poly 380's fall outside of the "garbage" catagory...?
Not really if they're compared to all-metal Walthers, Colts, (etc), or to larger pistols designed for many thousands of rounds.

If Ruger made a all-metal, no MIM version of the LCP that is within an ounce of the poly I'd buy it.

I have a TCP and it has been totally reliable. It shoots very well for me, quite accurate to a surprising range when I'm shooting the poly cube thing that bounces along the ground. When I get to the range and pull it out of my pocket holster, point it down range and pull the trigger, it goes bang every time. That's exactly what I expect.

Trigger is very surprising also. Try one.

I and I am sure a number of other forum members find your use of the word "retarded" quite offensive.

I would prefer you swear.

My buddy has a TCP. He said he never had a failure. I own Rugers, S&W's, a diamondback db9 and several Taurus, (not the TCP however). both revolvers and semiauto's. I am up to somewhere around two dozen handguns. I do not find my Taurus guns to be any less reliable.
As far as the other brands being better, I had a Beretta Nano that was a jamo-matic, and a S&W revolver that would sometimes jam if the trigger was pulled slightly and then released, (the cylinder then had to be manually moved into the next position). I recently bought a Sig sauer P290. Even before firing it, I was practicing disassembly and reassembly, (as it is a bit trickier than my other guns), The flanged end of the plastic recoil spring rod broke off. I bought an aftermarket stainless steel rod off of Ebay. Sig Sauer has yet to send me a warranty part.

I would be warry about public opinion, as most people repeat what they hear like a parrot. Maybe your question should be any TCP owners unhappy? Or go to Youtube and search for Taurus TCP problems.

So OP, did you get one yet? Back when I got my TCP the trigger was WAY better than the LCP. I also liked the way it felt in my hand better. The price was also a good factor. For something to carry and beat up, definitely the TCP.

If I were to do it again I would still get the TCP, but, if the LCP trigger is that much improved I would possibly get that.

A lot of guys have said Ruger is always better than Taurus I would have to disagree. My wife had a LC9 shortly after they came out and we both HATED it. I got a PT709 and it is exponentially better of course IMHO.
