Largest Capacity 9mm pistol?

What is the largest capacity (no extended magazine) traditional 9mm pistol ever made?

Not including semi-auto versions of sub guns like the Sites Spectre, M10, UZI pistol, etc.

The only one that comes to my mind are the Sig X-5 with 19+1. Is there any 9mm with factory mags that get above 20 rounds?

Does the Calico M950 count as traditional? :) 50rds standard capacity, 100rds with M900 carbine mags.

It's not really a subgun variant, as AFAIK the Calico M960 subgun was designed more or less simultaneously and was released slightly later. That said, I bet you'd consider Calicos to be categorically non-traditional due to the top-mounted helical magazine.

The highest capacity "traditional" handgun would be the the Italian Modello 1942 9mm Sosso, which had a capacity of 21 rounds. Unfortunately, it was never formally adopted by the Italian army.

CZ tactical sport is 20+1. But that's a $1200 gun. If you're looking more for a duty gun CZ P-09 has 19+1 factory mags and can be had for about $500. Really nice triggers too.

Now there's a gun I've never seen or heard of before - the Sosso! Man, would I like to have one of those. That's an interesting design.

I also was unaware of the capacity of CZ Tactical Sport and the STI GP6-C. I learned some things today!

Are you looking for a competition gun, something for self-defense, or are you just curious? :D Pretty much anything that is designed around a 20 round magazine (stock capacity) is going to made for IDPA/USPSA or similar.

The Springfield 9mm XDm as a prior forum member pointed out is probably the best bet if you want a SD gun with the highest capacity as it was designed for.

...belt fed in a stick mag? No wonder they never adopted it.
No kidding – I cringe at the thought of what would happen if any significant amount of dirt got in the mechanism, and a soldier had to clean it out under field conditions! Also, it seems probable that substantial damage to a single link would convert the pistol into the functional equivalent of a straight-pull bolt-action repeater, if not a sophisticated paperweight. :(

Fascinating idea, however. I have to give inventors credit for being original and clever even when the resultant design is impractical! (This goes for the Calico M950 as well.)

Really more self/home-defense; but the CZ-75 Tactical Sport isn't too far off the reservation. I really would be interested in that STI GP6-C, if I could find one.

My HK USP 9mm is normally a 15+1 but can use an 18+1 mag which is for the Jet Tunnel rig. Also there's a 33 rnd mag for it too.

The Glock 18 mags do have a great reputation. The worst I have ever heard is to not chamber a round then top off.

I'm still stuck on the belt fed... I just can't imagine how it could be reliable in the field. At first i thought it could have reliable really high capacity magazines, as in 50+, but the friction of dragging the chain around the mag would have to be more than the action could deliver. I'm also wondering about reloading the magazine.
Think how wide the grip must have been. Two 9mm had to be able to pass side by side, with all that junk in the middle also.

Hate to recommend something as simple as a Glock, but the 33-round Glock magazines are dead reliable

I have a Glock 17 and a +2 on the magazine. The problem is I really don't like the Glock - I just don't shoot well with it. Accuracy is a problem and I don't like the trigger. I was considering replacing it with a Grand Power K100, but for some reason the magazines hold only 15 rounds. Not sure why the STI versions have much larger magazine capacities??? In any event, I don't see where large capacity magazines are available for the Grand Power, so that poses a problem.

Me, too, which makes it a good day. I never dreamed that enclosed belt feed mechanism existed. I give them some points for innovative thinking, but I will take a seat in the choir that wonders how functional and reliable it might be.
