"Kit" guns?

Once again, I'll be the odd guy out on this. There is nothing wrong with the MAC-10. It's a little bulky and heavy, that's all. The closed bolt MAC-10's are generally very reliable and, with decent sites, accurate for a pistol.

If you are going for that Miami Vice gangsta look, then a closed-bolt Mac can be had for about $350 if you look.

With the Open bolt MAC's it's a different story - they are quite collectible, generally selling for around $1,000 +/-. Also, there is the novelty of owning a gun that you know BATFE despises because some unscrupulous person could convert it into a machine pistol.

Another good reason to own a Mac-10 semi-auto pistol is because the fudds will hate you when you shoot it on their pistol range. Make sure you rappid fire it to get full effect of grimacing faces.:D

You can make a firearm for your personal use, no serial number required.
you MAY sell a homemade firearm.
you MAY NOT sell a homemade firearm built for the purpose of resale.

Microgunner, are you confusing kit gun with "zip gun"? We called the guns we made at home on the farm and in school machine shop a zipgun, and you are right, they normallyfired a .22 cal bullet.

No, the firearms I'm referring to were factory produced kits that typically fired 9mm or 45ACP cartridges. Some single shot and double barrel pistols fired .45 Colt or .410 shotshells.
