A friend of mine (a software specialist for a large consulting firm) has been pulled over several times for simply driving a Porsche while black. It has never happened while he was dressed for work. Always on the way to the gym or somewhere. As soon as he opens his mouth, he is treated with respect because he is intelligent and well-spoken. Even when he has pulled an attitude (because he was understandably frustrated) the cops have treated him professionally because they are not stupid.
Bottom line: He earns $300k a year and has a great life. Success is the best revenge.
If you choose to take advantage of the education available to you, and you are willing to step outside of comfortable, familiar surroundings to improve your life you can achieve anything in this country- no matter what your race. I truly believe that. Everyone has challenges to overcome. Having black skin is a disadvantage sometimes. Overcome it. Many people have overcome greater disadvantages.
