Kimber Pistols

At the end of the day, Kimber makes a good gun. My Eclipse Target II shoots very much like a Gold Cup, with startling accuracy. The gun is "tight" and wants to be broken in a little bit when new, but it shot reliably right out of the box.

No company is perfect and I have no idea what Kimber customer service is like because I have not needed them. But my one Kimber, the Eclipse Targe II, is a very fine firearm.

And sorry, it is way way way better than the RIAs, contrary to what one poster in this thread opined.

Shot my Kimber Micro .380 yesterday along with my G42, G43, Sig P 238, P 938, Remington RM 380, s& W Bodyguard, Star Model S and SI, Walther PPK (7.65 made in 1932) and KelTec P3AT.
The Kimber, which just runs smoothly through a box of ammo, who's accuracy is noteable---and on a par with the Sig pistols. Glock is slightly larger with their groups and the Walther and Star S (and SI in .32) produced the smallest. After 150 rounds of ammo i came to the conclusion that for me all the pistols listed will shoot just fine in a defensive situation: the DA only pistols are truely close in fast shooters, old designs and production mean little in the calibers listed and old will out shoot many newer designs, and finally all of my pistols are reliable and experienced no malfunctions----with the exception of the DAO pistols all of the other pistols are very accurate at fairly long distances (30 yds was my extreme with most shooting done at five yards off hand).
Today perhaps i will give my Pro Carry II and my other .45 ACP pistols a chance to see which is most reliable (i'll bet they all are) and which i can wring the smallest groups out of. Then there is always the 9mm pistols or the stack of 9x18 to test........dont you just love spiring?

Oh, almost forgot, the Kel Tec shot the worst groups and was the least pleasant to shoot of all the pistols listed.

I own a lot of 1911's as well as full blown customs. All my Kimbers have been reliable and give great quality to cost. Out of all my 1911's, I carry my Kimber Super Carry Pro the most. It just does every thing right with every option ever needed in a carry 1911.

Had my Kimber for over 10 years...never had a problem with it. People like to bash certain brands/models - I don't know why. I don't think many of the "haters" even own the gun; they're just getting their info from the internet/a friend/having tried one once, etc.

I've not owned a Kimber yet but I think I will look for a Custom II this summer and re kindle my love of 1911's. Looks like a great starter pistol to tinker with and shoot!
