JT has spent a lot of time bashing the P-11, maybe just to stir the poop, but he cites no personal experience with one, so what is his opinion worth?
Mine has been %100 reliable out of the box with hollowpoints and everything else. I can shoot one hole with it at 7 yards any day of the week. I have owned multiple $2000 handguns so price is not the issue with me, this is just a good gun and it is the only gun out there that fills it's role. If it was not worth my life, I would not carry it. The day that mine is not %100 reliable, then maybe I will start to wonder, but so far, about 1000 rounds into it, it is %100 reliable and accurate.
The Kel Tec does much that a Glock cannot do. I carry both, and they both have their place. I love the Glock and would love to have one on me all the time, but there are places even a mini Glock cannot go. The Kel Tec is MUCH thinner, and MUCH MUCH lighter than the Glock. I can EASILY carry the Kel Tec in my pocket or clipped to my waistband. JT obviously has no experience with this gun, and has no clue what he is talking about.
I carry my Kel Tec when I cannot carry anything else. This is often due to it's light weight. for example, the KelTec is my primary carry for jogging. It is the only gun of any decent firepower that is light enough that when I am running it does not jostle too much.
The Kel Tec is not my primary gun, but it plays a very distinct role in my battery of daily carry guns.
Glocks are my favorite guns, and almost the most reliable guns ever made, but on any given day you can go over to Glocktalk and find multiple threads going about people having jams with their Glocks. There has to be at LEAST 200 threads a year on Glocktalk about Glocks jamming....and these are very reliable guns! This forum isn't even about Kimbers, and look at how often we get threads about Kimbers having jamming problems. The internet spans huge amount of people, and no one is going to start a thread about "my gun is %100 reliable, what do I do?!". Of course you are going to see reliability questions on the only website in the world addressing the topic. Even the best gun makers put out lemons. It is a calculated percentage.
All I can go by is my own experience though (which is much more than JT can say) and my Kel Tec has been %100 reliable for as long as I have owned it.
