Kel-Tec P-11 for pocket carry?

I am considering a P-11 for pocket carry. I know a 2 finger grip gun with a 3.1 inch barrel "should" fit my needs but I haven't seen one in the flesh. I'm not too worried about deep concealment but I just would really like a 9mm that I could throw in a pocket holster instead of my little Tomcat .32. Anyone pocket carry one? I'd appreciate if someone has a comparison picture next to something the size of a CZ compact.

Thanks!

it's possible with cargo pants, the double stack mag is pretty thick. KT PF9 might be a better choice for pocket carry.

P-11 is a little big unless you have big pockets. i have a spreadsheet with about 30 guns on it and their dimensions in order to figure out a 'pocket' gun, only the kel tec p3at made the cut. along with kahr cm9, m&p body guard (bought it today), taurus tcp.

Is the grip really that thick? The double stack on my SAR B6PC is thinner than my single stack Polish P-83. Actually, the P-83 is almost small enough to hide in the pocket of the jeans I wear 99% of the time. That's what got me thinking maybe a double stack 9 would work.

Well, as long as some of you do it on occasion, I guess it would be worth buying just to see. It would only be when I was rushing out the door and didn't feel like fussing with IWB or shoulder rig.

For those of you that have, what pocket holster do you use?

why not look at the Kahr CM9? perfect pocket pistol and it doesn't hurt the wallet. I've had 5 Kahr pistols and only had issues with the CW9. re: quality, there's a very evident difference in quality between the two, but I must admit, the Keltec's I've had ran just fine. Kahrs are tight as a drum, Keltecs shake, rattle and roll.

When my P-11 was the only thing I had to carry, I made it work, but I've since moved on and it stays in my truck safe as my "truck gun" I've found it easier to carry my SA RO Champion IWB than to carry the double stack P-11.

The Kahrs are nice but I really would like to be able to carry 10 or even 12+1 in a pocket if I can. I carry a 10mm Witness in a shoulder rig most of the time. Other times if I won't be sitting or driving a lot I carry my TriStar T-120 IWB in an AlienGear holster. If I will be required to take the gun off and on going into places where they are not allowed I carry my SAR B6PC in a leather one clip IWB holster. That pretty much has me covered but occasionally I just need to run down to the convenience store for a minute and I toss my Tomcat in my pocket. Better that nothing but I would feel better with a bunch of 9mm in my pocket! I think I will most likely give it a try anyway. Can't really have too many guns. If it doesn't work in my pocket I'm sure I'll find some use for it!

The PF9 would be a better pocket choice. The trigger could be better, but my PF9 I have never had any problems with. It's lightweight for a 9mm.

I had a PF9 and it was small enough to drop in the pocket. I was lucky to have a good working model as the QC were pretty spotty.

With a pocket holster and the large pockets in my cargo shorts mine carries very nicely on hot summer days. (That is in the side pockets not the leg pocket.) Though I did put the extended finger grip on the magazines.

I have a P11 myself, I'm 6'3" at 165 or so and I wear tucked in dress shirt and slacks most days. The P11 is much, much too large for that outfit in pocket carry. My samsung galaxy prints in most pants. You'd need to be pretty large, with pretty baggy clothes on top of that.

Personally I think pocket carry means singlestack.

Yeah. I have seen pictures of the P-11 and the PF-9 placed one on the other and aside from the width of the grip they are really darn close to the same size. I don't think the grip thickness will make any difference on my fat thighs!:D And the pic of the PF-9 looks eminently doable unless your hands are HUGE.

Thanks for the input Guys.

I just use the belt clip. With the terrible trigger on this thing, it would be literally impossible to get an a.d.

Have since ungraded the trigger.

No matter how stout the trigger is I don't think I would ever carry one with those clips. Damn I could get hung up on a shopping cart with an exposed trigger. That just scares me a little too much.

What kind of trigger upgrade did you do?

Keltec's usually benefit greatly from a Fluff & Buff...
check the usual Keltec websites for specific info,
or just hire yer local G'smith (one that's Good, hopefully)
Just whatever you do, do NOT use a Dremel...
one slip and you've got plastic melted goop everywhere...
which makes real g'smiths really happy to see you and charge even more money ;)

Your pants are basically the holster, it's not an exposed trigger. To each their own I guess.

The trigger is an RTK Trigger.

I have a P11 and HAD a PF9 that I traded for a LC9 Ruger.

It doesn't look it but the small thickness difference between the P11 and PF9 made a big enough difference to give the edge to the PF9.
It actually was the best of the mid sized pocket guns to carry.

The LC9 is good too but very slightly heavier than the PF9.
