Any1 use the steel belt clips with their kel tec for concealed carry? how do you like it ? how do you carry it?

I do sometimes. I clip the gun inside my pants pocket, with the butt forward (the gun's butt.) The only thing that shows is the clip, and that's covered up by my shirt.

I've tried just clipping the gun to my belt around the house, but it doesn't feel secure enough.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who use them and haven't had a ND, but I 3rd the motion that they aren't a great idea for the reasons mentioned.

I have been carrying my PF9 with belt clip for almost 4 years now without incident. I live in FL (extremely hot) and wear very thin shirts, I'm also pretty slender and most of the holster I've tried are still too bulky for my size. Those 2 things lead me to decide on the belt clip and I have loved it ever since. The PF9 has a very long trigger pull rated at ~7 lbs. so I feel very comfortable carrying it with the trigger exposed.

I have had Kel-Tec since they came on the market. I currently own and carry a P-40, P-11, PF9 and at one time I had a P3AT. All were fitted with the clip and I think it's one of the best ideas for really...concealed carry that has been on the market. Most Kel's have a long DA trigger pull so it's not a concern that the trigger is not covered. I carry mine in my front waist band almost 90% of the time. Other time small of back or hip. I can wear it with shorts and an untucked t-shirt and NO BELT! The P-11 and P-40 get a bit heavy when full loaded. The PF9 is easily forgotten as is the P3

I have a P32 that I picked up from the gun show last year. Had a belt clip on it when I got it. I also used to have a P11 that also had the belt clip installed. I have never had a problem with either and I do not worry about ND when carrying the gun. I do pay a little extra attention when putting the gun on/taking it off, but I am confident that it will not go off by accident while carrying. The P32 is not often carried - just when I REALLY can't carry anything bigger. It's about the smallest gun which I would carry and consider myself to be "armed" while doing so. Usually I prefer something larger, say, a Glock 23 or 27. I like the P32 with the belt clip because it adds almost NO extra bulk to the gun and it carries low inside the waistband, making the gun virtually unnoticeable to the casual observer even if your cover garment should ride up while carrying. Great for times when you can't carry anything larger, or when you absolutely do NOT want people to notice that you're carrying. I sometimes use the pocket holster shown, as well and carry in a hip or cargo pocket.

The only problem I've seen with the belt clip is that they sometimes loosen up and need to be re-tightened periodically. If not, they tend to shift and can even gouge into the frame of the gun slightly. Other than that, they're very effective and work very well.

It's all about having options...

I had the factory clip for my P11. Worked very well. After selling the gun I bought a Clipdraw for my Kahr K9 which also works better than expected.

One caveat, the allen screws with the P11 kept coming loose, so put a bit of blue Loctite on the threads.

My belt clip experience

I got the Belt Clip to use with my P3AT....loved it! The reason that Kel-Tecs don't have safeties is due to their long, deliberate trigger pull. That being said, just keep your finger out of the trigger guard and you'll do fine. I always carried in the waistband, small of back. I'd rather have my Glock on me, as it is more powerful, more accurate, & more reliable. But the Kel-Tec is what I carry when I can't carry a gun. :D:D:D

Bohica6284 Sure not many of us around that'll admit to carrying a P-40. Just buying my second one, man they're had to find. It's one of those You like it or You hate guns, carry mine 90% of the time, the other is a Kahr CW40 I think Kel-Tec made a mistake when they stopped making them. Could of been a head of the times. Any way "Clip draws" are what I use, holsters are just sitting in the closet. I find they work well, and so what if the trigger's uncovered ?? What's the problem ! (P.S.) Kel-Tec says they have no .40 cal parts for them any more.

If you clip it inside your waist band in the small of your back (about five o'clock position) and then wear a belt over it, the clip does not even show. Of course keep your finger out of the trigger guard until acquiring the target.

I have used the belt clip on my Kel-Tec P32 and have since removed it, choosing instead to rely on pocket carry. The belt clip attaches at the rear-most point of the pistol, so the entire grip rides below the waistband of your pants. This doesn't seem to lend itself to a particularly fast, comfortable, consistent draw. What's more (although this is relatively minor, less likely to become a problem, and not difficult to remedy), if you're particularly active there's not much of anything between the gun and your sweat, which lends itself to rust.

My P-32, with belt clip has become my "summertime in Florida" EDC piece. I stick it in the back pocket of my jeans and it disappears. Although one of my buddies once asked me why I was carrying 2 knives. He said the clip looks just like a spiderco knife clip. (didn't see the gun, lol) I always carry a Boker automatic in my front pocket, and the clip is similar.

The only issue I've had is pocket lint buildup...

Here in the Buckeye State, a holster is required for lawful concealed carry.... Some of our strange carry laws are now in the process of upgrade, to include lawful carry into bars and restaurants selling alcohol and some of the weird requirements for vehicle carry. We have our fingers crossed ! Love the clips for the littlest kel-tecs, but I prefer an IWB holster for the PF9 and P11.

belt clips

i have belt clips on both my kel's,nd would never go back to a holster, they do ride low [very concealed]and require a little practice to draw quickly, however IMHO they do work,in 3 1/2 and 2 years respectfully i have never had an accident or unsafe incident with either of them.
