I really didn't need another pistol, but the "hype" about the new KelTec PF9 aroused my interest, so I saved up my pennies to buy one.
Then the first batch of PF-9's released were SOOOOO problematic.. Yikes, my P32 and P11 had been perfect right out of the box. I'm not into BetaTesting, so I lose my enthusiasm for the new slim KelTec 9. If KelTec had got the PF-9 right the first time they would have saved me a lot of money.. But - I'm glad they didn't!
Enter "Shipwreck" with all those darn beautiful P99AS/P99c/AS/SW99 pictures.
What in the crap IS a Walther P99?
From my little perspective of 50 years of firearms ownership it's simply the best overall pistol I've ever owned.. And I've owned a pretty good variety over the decades.
In the past I had a surplus Walther PP in 32cal. It was excellent. In a moment of stupidity I sold it to buy whatever new "flavor of the month pistol" that caught my interest. Dumb.. I don't do that anymore.
I also have a surplus Walther P1, which is excellent. I have a surplus P5, which is excellent. So with my history of Walthers I ordered a compact P99c/AS.. without ever having even held one.
FANTASTIC pistol.
Now a fullsized P99/AS has found it's way to my door.
What next. Help, I'm addicted!
These P99's are like potato chips, you can't have just one.. I don't know whether to thank Shipwreck, or send my bride to whup his butt..?
THANKS SHIPWRECK!
Check 'em out!
Best Wishes,
