Red ink?

I haven't used them in a while, but when I did..., OCR readers have problems with letters that run together, letters that are somewhat oddly shaped, faxes, copies of copies (because it makes the letters misshapen and run together.)

john: The red ink was in reference to scantron machines not able to read in data unless it was of blue or black markings. Since I have no experience with OCRs I was wondering if the same applied to them.

Just to be make sure I guess fill out the forms with red ink, write big and run the letters together and outside of the boxes on the form.

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Two Words:
Mail Fraud.

It's a felony IIRC.
[/quote]

EVERYTHING is a felony these days. Felony is a HUGE catagory, and they have no right to steal your guns because you falsified reports. If you get in trouble, make sure your guns are safely hidden in a pro-RKBA state, and after you get classified a felon, move to that state, and have your right to bear arms reinstituted by that state. The ATF won't process it, but they can't do much about it either, because if they state says ok, and you are only using and owning the gun in that state, it's none of the fed's business. You need to make sure and elect sheriffs who will do like the sheriff in Wyoming and tell the feds that they have to ask for permission before violating his sovereignty.

We can change this country, but putting up with totally BS laws will not help us do so. We are on a very dangerous course of weakness and eventual collapse, our country needs to get some sense and some strength back into the hands of the people.

Look at what has happened to the British empire. If they had gone into India, Africa, etc, and given the people full British rights(which were good at that time), then they'd probably still be British today, rather than having gotten all pissed off and rebelled like any sane peoples should. We live in our areas, and we are being attacked by people who don't know us, don't care about us, and aren't even elected by us, we have a right to fight back. If my representative's approval were required for any federal attempt to intrude into my life that would be a LITTLE different, at least I'd be getting screwed with by someone I legally elected, but fed agents not elected by anyone weild entirely too much power over my life, and I seek to stop that.

Scanners work much like copiers. There is a color blue that won't copy. It's used to mark up sheets, but allow the sheets to be copied without all of the comments. This should be available at any Staples, Kinkos, or other copy center.

Using cursive writing will completely screw up an OCR system. Photocopying the form so that it's at an angle when you fill it out will mess it up too.

You could fill it out using a script font on a computer.

Photocopy the form onto dark textured paper. Heck, use black paper and a gel pen.

Fill in your serial number like this:
Six-Zero-Nine-Eight-Five-A-Nine

Yes, I was a troublemaker in high school.

There are lists of stolen guns to be found on the Internet.

Here: http://cssa.org/articles/stolen_guns.html

Here: http://www.mygunroom.com/lost/rifles.htm
here: http://www.mygunroom.com/lost/handgun.htm
and here: http://www.mygunroom.com/lost/shotgun.htm

And even here: http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:www.cityofstuart.com/police/transfer/alert.htm+stolen+guns+list&hl=en

I think that it would be clearly illegal if these firearms were to be registered to either dead people or anti-gun congresscritters in the upcoming registration drive. I advise all members not to do such a thing.

Just my opinion, though. I'm no lawyer. (Thank goodness)

Ok I wont call you encouragable Bluesman.

I have to throw a monkey into the works and
boy was I enjoying them.
Ponder this one for me GALT,SUMABICH AND ALD MONDRACA.
In Canada your able to mail in the forms I guess their that honest I dont know.
But last I heard in CA. their telling the people to BRING IN THE GUNS.

But lets even scratch that for a moment.
Are you even able to get yello 4473 registration forms in your state without buying a gun????
That I know of they are only available to dealers.
Im sure that their are dealers here and their that for the cause or a buck would lose a stack or three but beyond that doesnt the lack of proper forms present a slight problem.I really hate slowing down this idea but better to handle it now than later.
And another wild thought thats better to hear ahead of time.
I asked a guy our gunstore yesterday when I was debating which 10mm to get what he thought people would do when they came to get their guns..
First of all I think most of the guys in this shop are pussified liberals only their to make a buck.
But anyway he said
'I dont think theyll come for them, after they make registration law if they find one on you at the ranger in a trade whatever theyll simply list you as a 'gunsmuggler' and after that put you under the Reeco act
(sp??? Ive never heard of this one before but Im young and very ignorant of the many laws that are tied around the constitution)
where they confiscate your car your home, freeze your back account all your credit cars assets you name it.
How much is one 1911 worth to you before long youll call and ask them to come and get it.'
Although scary and most will say that wont happen anytime soon I have to ask how many will say they the IRS FEDS dont have the power.Make a very bad example out of a few and the rest......
Well either way I was really annoyed with the little nerd and only replied
Your right its hard to put a price on freedom.--before walking out.
Ofcourse I do sort of have an Idea on this last one but only people with very bright
red white and blue blood would be interested and that is NOT all of us even here
(well Im just gonna register mine)
Shoot yourself while your at it or go burn the constitution in your front yard you GOOD LITTLE NAZI'S.
Sort of like on that county where the sherriff put out the number to report 'illeagl weapons'.
What if they get 50 calls a day mostly from
payphones and stolen cells?

OH well

Some people want every little detail solved for them, instead of using their brains. I know several gun dealers that would give me any blank form I wanted for a good cause. 8-10 each would not be a problem. If you have to be creative, go to a dealer, get a form. Go to another dealer, get a form. Go back to dealer #1, tell them you need another one cause you messed up the first one. Go to another dealer, tell them you need 4 forms (you, your mom, your brother, and your neighbor). Get the idea yet? You only need 8-10 each. Get more people involved, and each person has to file less of them. I doubt this is even an issue, you can probably download the forms on the Internet. So why are some people always looking for reasons to not do the right thing?

I never suggested that people not register their guns, but that is an option. I did suggest that a reasonably widespread effort that carries no personal risk other than the cost of a few stamps could make the whole system crumble and be made useless for decades. It may even delay confiscation efforts for a while, once they find out that everyone :) in California owns multiple guns, and some people even registered multiple forms. :) Mayeb it will be like a Chicago election, and there will be more gun-owners than residents. :D

When it gets this ridiculous, you have to treat it as a very high stakes (life or death) poker game. We can react and adapt quicker than they can pass and enforce laws, if we start to use our brains and communications capabilities AND we all work together. All I can say is if this registration nonsense gets "accepted" in Kalifornia, I am gonna be very pissed at all of of you.

Exactly. So what if a particular idea won't work; they're just suggestions. Think up something new and try _that_, or at least let others know so that _somebody_ can do it. The point is to monkeywrench their schemes--do it however you can. Be creative. Don't depend on others to do all your thinking for you; use their ideas to get your imagination in gear.

Yep. There are all kinds of ways to throw a spanner in the works. Make the system too expensive to be workable; make the system too much _work_ to be practical; or make it so error-filled that it's useless.

OODA. Observe, orient, decide, act. No bureaucracy can react as quickly as individuals acting on their own, or even cooperating freely. When they change the rules to prevent the techniques discussed from working (and they will, eventually, if the civil disobedience causes them enough trouble), _we_ have to be ready to change tactics. And then change them again. And again.

It's guerilla warfare, in effect--only with bureaucratic red tape instead of guns. And like all guerillas anywhere, our advantage is in speed and stealth and never allowing the enemy to muster its superior forces against us. Yes, the various suggestions made here may work...for a while.

Have you thought about what you'll do AFTER that?

Sure. But conditions will be changed by then. We need to fight one battle at a time. If we don't FOCUS on the issue at hand, we will lose.

If you want to get the latest regs straight from the Kali atty general's office, click to www.regagun.org. **** Anyone in Kali who registers is a damn fool: SKSs with detatch mags were "registered" one year, then ("surprise!") outlawed the next. The same will happen with your AR15. After Dec 31, all of these IMHO become "militia rifles" and need to be ready-cached off of your property with ammo and cleaning gear to "await further developments". Think of junk yards, old barns, abandoned factories.

While none of us here would obviously endorse such fun natured trickery, we obviously would support free speech, and of course liberals would agree on that because the first is the only ammendment they wanna protect. So, in the name of free speach, I would recommend any who do this wear gloves and never touch the papers with your bare hands. Also, get thumbprints from a cadaver if any of you are doctors ;) or put an animal's paw-print on there for the hell of it. Of course this is all for informational purposes, we at TFL take no responsibility for any actions of civil disobedience that might occur.

In fact, my post above is purely a work of dramatic art, as is this one, so don't be alarmed or anything of the sort.

Yes, of course conditions will have changed. My point was that while any or all of the suggestions offered so far might work now, if they're successful, the bureaucracy will eventually make changes to counter them--and we need to be thinking about the next step. Rather like chess--if you're only thinking about the next move, the guy who is playing several moves out is going to win.

I am saying people should not register their actual owned guns.
Now as far as screwing the registration system Im behind it 100% GALT.
Im not trying to be the wet blanket here.
I was talking to a dealer when I got the information above.Hes watched and under several camera's where he is so I dought he could slip me any.
I personally am not close enought to any off hand to have that done.
If you have such an avenue GALT start getting some now when the time comes GALT Ill try to get you to send some to my pobox you can even make up an address for yourself if we ever did that so you wouldnt have to wonder if Im a fed in sheeps clothing.
Ill die ,Ill have my head blown off Ill be forcibly thrown in prison if their really really good but I wont go 'quietly into the night' for our ever increasing facist government.
City by city state by state gun by gun.
Just imagine if half the gunowners in america
took down just one federal agent that broke in to strip away your freedom like your a slave with no life worth preserving.
I dont want to hurt anyone either obviously
but I cant put a price tag on my freedom either and if its not worth fighting for to
everyone here then please vote for Gore and register your guns now.

Hey, I live in the relatively free state of Florida. I don't need no steenkin forms. I am just trying to prompt a little non-violent protest in the PRK while there is still time.

Your gun is a tool, your mind is the weapon.

I notice that the voluntary registration form doesn't require any fingerprints.

I wonder what would happen if those people in California who had already decided to register their guns did something goofy like USE THE WRONG FORM?

Why if they mailed in the voluntary registration form above along with the money order receipt and kept copies, they would have proof that they did indeed register their weapon. At the same time, I bet the weapon would never make it to the evil, black guns list.

For that matter if a LOT of people started mistaken registering assault weapons on the voluntary form, I bet that would create some havoc.

You know, when dealing with red tape there is simply no shortage of ways that things could get screwed up in your favor. I think that when dealing with registration, Californians should keep this in mind.

Well, I dunno if I would do any of this, but if I did, I sure would remember to wear gloves, and not lick the envelope or the stamp...

Form I picked up from 'Toy' store requires thumb print. Also, I believe even if the form says voluntary, the law is forcing this to happen.

Radio yesterday, Geoff Metcalf, said about 6,000 or est 200,000 'AW's have been registered !

I will try to scan the AW form on Monday.
