Here's a little update about my Kahr P 40. If you recall I was deadset against sending anything back to Kahr after the way I was treated with my first experience. After several replies, by Kahr, to this thread, I began to gain a little confidence in them and decided I would give them another chance. Here's how they have done so far.
I sent the pistol in on July 9th to arrive on the 10th. I overnighted it direct, because I live in a free state and have that right. They sent me a card saying they received it on 7/10. I anxiously awaited my pistol for two weeks, but to my dismay when 14 total days had passed, I still had no gun. I waited one more day and then gave them a call. On the 25 of July I called Michelle and she passed me through to a technician. He was nice and so was Michelle, but there was only one problem. After waiting for more than 5 minutes on hold the technician reported back saying he could not find my gun and would have to call me back. I was
to say the least. He came back several times saying he was still looking. Finally, he reported that it was found on the plant managers desk awaiting a decision of wherther to replace it or repair it. I then had to ask the tech when I would have it and he said possibly the middle of the next week, because there is a lot of paper work in replacing a gun.
Of course, I waited and waited and waited, but August 6 came and still I had no gun, so once again I called. I was greeted by a very nice lady, Michelle, I think, she put me through to another technician. He began to explain that the firearm had left the building on Friday August 3 for Fed EX overnight delivery. I did some checking and Fed Ex had already ran for the day, so I called back an got a tracking number. I was told at this point that the firearm had left Kahr on the 2nd of August, but someone screwed up and sent it ground. (Isn't that illegal?????) I then asked what had been done to this pistol and Michelle (I think) read me the technicians repair list. It seems they repaired the pistol with some polishing and deburring, reversed the trigger pin??, fired 5 mags without a failure and then packed it up for departure. I have been told my pistol will arrive on Wednesday the 8th and possibly before then. I will have another update once, I've had an oppurtunity to fire the pistol.
I have gotten positive polite feedback with every conversation, accept one email that no one replied too. However, as you can see they still seem to have some problems with customer service.
