My K9Elite98 has well over 5,000 rounds through it. Owned and carried nearly daily for 3 years. No malfunctions. No failures to fire/feed/eject. No broken parts. I know that this gun will perform when/if the time comes.

I've been looking at the P series, seem rather attractive as far as weight/size, but still waiting for the same Kahr perfection found in my K9.

My friend had an MK-9. It functioned flawlessly. The only problem I had with it was that it had this nasty habit if slicing up the thumb knuckle of my shooting hand. That is the reason I do not own one!!!

I have owned 5 Kahrs over the past 3 years or so, K9, K40, K40 Elite, MK9 and a P40. I still own the K40 elite and MK9, both have had well over a thousand rounds through them with no problems after the initial break in period. The first two K9 and K40 were used in trade for the two I own now. The P40 was a early production model and didn't agree with me, heard bad reports and bailed early. I think I'll look at the polymer MK9 when it comes out and Kahr has solved any problems that it might have, as light as a Beretta Tomcat and about the same size in 9mm, sounds like they will be makeing a slew of them.... Stay Safe

My K9 didn't need a break-in. It has been 100% from the start. My MK9, on the other hand, took about 150 rounds for break-in. Both are very accurate, reliable, and HEAVY.

Kahr's are good guns. The K series are just a pain to take apart. My friend's K9 slide stop pin fits so snugly, he has to use a dowel and hammer to get it out. Other than that, I have no complaints about the gun.

I bought my wife a P-9 recently and I am not impressed.

The only thing I have been able to get it to reliably fire is CCI/Blazer FMJ. It had misfeeds and failed ejection on every Speer 124gr +P round that I put through it, and it did the same thing with Remington UMC 115gr practice rounds. I do not trust this gun at all. When it does fire, it is very accurate, but it fails to properly cycle at least 1 out of every 3 rounds.

I've put about 400 rounds through it so far, and if anything, the problems have gotten worse as I've fired it more. I'm not sure what to think about the gun, I like it's size and feel, but I'm not happy with it so far. To me, a gun is either 100% reliable or it is sold.

If it wasn't for the fact that this is my wife's gun, I'd have already sold it.

I spoke with a gun smith today who has 2 Kahrs and has worked on many of them, including mine. The MK he has is flawless but the P40 covert he has self destructed before it was even broken in....In short, steel Kahrs are really great guns..the poly ones are still questionable. Shoot well
