Kahr PM9 Trouble

I may have a real problem. My son removed the slide stop from my PM9 and something's wrong. The slide will not come off (or move at all) and I can't get the slide stop back in place either. Any ideas?

The slide should not lock up from simply removing the slide stop. Are you sure he did nothing else? Once the slide stop is removed you should just pull the trigger and remove the slide while holding the trigger. Sometimes mine will stick if I am not holding the trigger down.

I'm not sure what he did. The fact is that the stop is out and the slide will not move either direction - with the trigger depressed or pushed forward.

Is the slide all the way forward or are the notches on the side lined up for removing the slide stop? Have a digital camera to take a pic?

If I pull the trigger (with some pressure) the slide moves rearward slightly - but not flush with the rear of the frame.

If it was me I would just try to pull the slide back to the locked position first and go from there. Unless your kid lodged something in there, it should go. You might need to use a little muscle. I would also consider getting a new kid...or not letting that one touch my guns again. :D

I hear you

But he's fired it and cleaned it a dozen times before. Something's wrong inside. With all my strength I can not move the slide either direction. I've tried sliding it with the trigger pulled all the way, depressed slightly and pushed forward. I've tried pushing the slide forward with a lot of force too - it just won't move. Is it possible that maybe he removed the stop and then pulled the trigger too soon or too late or something and now the trigger is in the way of the slide moving?

Mine has frozen on my MK40 before. I just had to wiggle it back and forth while pulling the trigger. With the trigger pulled it should come free. if not, something has been broken. It is so hard to diagnose without seeing it.

I just used my PM9 to figure it out.

What happened was he pulled the trigger and dry fired the pistol before he removed the slide stop and did not re cock it, but its OK. Just pull back hard on the trigger till it clicks then pull the slide forward. Don't be afraid you are going to break it pull the trigger till it makes a loud click.

Nope. With all my strength I can not pull the trigger hard enough to get it to click. I even put a wooden dowel through the trigger and pulled with two hands.
