Kahr or Firestorm?

I HAVE HANDLED THE FIRESTORM .40. MY FRIEND HAS SHOT THE 9MM AND THE 40 FROM FIRESTORM. HE LIKES THEM BOTH AND SAYS THEY ARE RELIABLE AS ANY OTHER GUN OUT THERE. THE ONLY THING I NOTICED WAS THE NICKEL ON THE BARREL STARTED FLAKING. BLUE STAYED BEUTIFUL ON THE NINE! I KNOW FIRESTORM WILL FIGURE THIS OUT SOONER THAN LATER BUT THE NINE AND THE 40 BARRELS ARE INTERCHANGEABLE AND WILL WORK IN EITHER. THE MAG MIGHT HAVE TO BE CHANGED AS WELL. I THOUGHT THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD WAY TO HAVE SOME VERSATILITY AND MAYBE SHOOT THE CHEAPER NINE ROUNDS. DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THE BARREL WOULD COST BUT IT IS A 2 SECOND CHANGE! OVERALL I ALMOST BOUGHT THE GUN BUT ENDED UP WITH A CZ-75. I DON'T LIKE NOT BEING ABLE TO BUY GRIPS AND HOLSTERS FOR MY GUNS. IF IT BECOMES MORE POPULAR LIKE I THINK IT WILL, I WILL HAVE ONE!

I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE .40 WITH THE PEELING NICKEL WAS TAKEN BACK AT THE FACTORY AND HE PURCHASED IT AT A DISCOUNT RATE FOR THE SCRATCH AND DENT. THE DAMAGE DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE IT WAS HIS BUT EVIDENTLY FIRESTORM MADE GOOD ON SOMEONE HAVING A CHIPPED BARELL. HE JUST WIRE WHEELED IT AND PERMA BLUED TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

Just get a couple of 10 round mecgar mags for home defence or for spares and you will not even think about getting anything other than the KAHR. My aftermarket mags have been great.

I have a couple Mini 9s and a couple Astra A-75s (predecessor to the RAP). Both are very good little guns. The only problems I've had are an occasional hammer bite from the Mini and the very heavy weight (for its size) of the A-75. But other than that, they have shot very well and have adequate accuracy for compact/sub-compact guns. I'm not sure of the RAP but the barrel of the A-75 will rust if not cared for.
