Not necessarily a review of the firearm you're discussing - but an overall take on Charter.
I've had a Charter Off-Duty .38 for about 6 years now, and it's been a very good handgun. Easily carried, accurate at SD distances and goes bang every time. I carry that, off and on, along with a S&W Centennial... a bit different in weight (with the Smith being all steel) and the Charter has a bit snappier recoil, but i wouldn't hesitate to rely on it at this point in time.
Also have a Charter Pathfinder in .22 LR that i did have a an issue with (keyholing). Dropped the factory a note. Heard back within 24 hours with a request to bring it by their shop (they're just a few minutes from me) Dropped it off, met the owner, Mr. Ecker, and he gave a quick tour of their facility. First class service. I received an email a few days later to stop by and pick up my revolver. The repair (new yoke fitted) made all the difference in the world and the Pathfinder has been great for plinking ever since - accuracy is great!
During the tour, i was brought past their "repair locker" with guns waiting for service. Contrary to what you may hear online, there were very few guns awaiting service. There were a handful in line ahead of mine awaiting work.
All in all, very positive experiences with Charter and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Good luck!!
