Just joined the NRA for LIFE.

Pretty happy about that. I had been doing the renewal thing, but I decided to commit to $1k and take it all the way. Anyways... that is all. :D

You might get some replies about junk-mail and folks being tired of the request for donations, but this isn't one of them. Thank-you for your support. I went life-membership in 91, wish I could find the funds for Endowment...

Congrats on making the commitment. Nice to have another lifer:cool:

I've been a member since 1990, and a lifer since 2005.

Yeah, there is alot of junk mailings, but simply give when you can, and toss the ones you don't want.

There's a place in the customer service section of the NRA site that will allow members to opt out of the mailings. Sure worked for me! I probably only get 2-3 mailings a year on specific issues.

Congrats. I'm tired of the junk mail and other crap they send out, but overall I am happy with the work they do and have thought about becoming a lifetime member myself. Congrats again.

Good on 'yer. The NRA is too important to our rights to be concerned about the junk mail issue. I just treat it like all junk mail and toss it as soon as it's through the front door.

I have been a life member for a while now.

I have quit several times because of all the urgent pleas for money for this and more money for that.

The last time I joined, I told them I wanted to be put on a "Do not promote" list.

No letters for money and insurance that I just "must" have. I told them if they could not do that, they should return my money.

It has worked out pretty good. There were a couple of slip ups and I called them and the fix has been pretty thorough.

I get the AR and nothing else. They can take you off those lists but you will have to ask them.

Geetarman:D

I'm a poor college student, and I can't quite afford the 1k, but I just re-upped for 5 years after three years of single-year renewals. Doing the best I can until I have the cash to lock it down for life.

It was that or Trijicons for my Beretta PX4. The PX4 has good steel sights, and in five years I'll have plenty of money for that. :)

Welcome aboard.
I've been a Life Member since 1972. Back then it cost only $200.

I wish every gun owner would join the NRA. Instead of around the current 4 million members, imagine the political strength of a 40 - 55 million member organization!

Good for you!

I went life around 2000, have since then slowly paid up the ladder to Benefactor. They aren't perfect but the best bang for the $$ I think.
