Just bought a Taurus PT-145

Shemdo,

Hi! Gutsy move acquiring that gun. Will check out your posts from time to time to see if it remains crack-free. Good luck! :)

I handled one for the first time at the nearby gunshop, and I can understand why many fall for it. Seems well-made. 10+1 rnds of .45ACP, fairly priced at $420. A candidate for my "consider" list.

Maybe in a year or two... :D

By the way, may I know what ammo you're using?

I hope it works for you. I managed to put 650 rounds through mine before the frame cracked. I too sold it as soon as it came back, bought a Glock 36 and haven't looked back!!!

I think I've beat everyone...PT-145 serial NUG68...
Ran ONE magazine through it before cracking!
At Taurus right now, will be traded in upon return for either
CZ-75compact or H&K USPc

I'm not willing to take another chance on Taurus either...

JD is right!!! I bought the PosT-145 as a serious carry gun. The problems with it are not worth the life of myself or my wife!!!

Taurus Millennium

Hate to be negative, but for those of you who haven't developed a problem with your PT-Millennium, I think it is only a matter of time. And a short time at that. It is a darn shame too because I really liked my PT-140. I too discovered a crack today 05-05-02 after a range visit. I bought it new in February and only have about 650 rounds thru it. (serial SUL 20xxx) It did work perfectly prior to the crack; however, I can't trust it with my life. Even if Taurus replaces the frame I want to exchange it for an all-steel construction gun. I would be happy with an even trade for a Taurus PT100/101, PT940, or PT945. What do you think my chances are for that happening? I'll let you know what happens.
Any advice will be most appreciated. For those of you interested: the crack was located inside the frame on the left side starting at the slide release and continuing backwards for one inch...I want a gun that I can shoot....and shoot....and shoot....and shoot..and
:( :(
