"Just a 38."

I have a 1961 and a 1962 Colt Official Police 38 sp.
Someone died last year and a big collection was brought into the pawn shop and put on consignment.
I had to buy them at least a week apart so there was no federal multiple handgun purchase form.

Nothing fancy. No Magnum uberboomer. No fancy sights. Just a plain ol', six shot, blue steel 38 Special,

Proven, still proving and will continue do so.
Very very nice gun btw, and congrats.

Just the way I come up, if you will, still I have always had a plain ol' 38spl, have some now, and hope to always have one.

Hard to beat simple...

I have an OP 38sp made in 1943 that looks unfired around the forcing cone.

Only in certain circumstances...

Back in the 1980s when cops were trading in their 38s for 9mm autos the used gun market was awash with good wheel guns in 38 Special. They're like a drug to me. I bought a bunch of them. Still have 17 of them hanging around the ranch. Used to have a lot more.
