June 11th After Action Report

WOW!!

Who would have thought we would have had this many new people join us!!

Official head count was 39 + some observers.

Fargo007 (from AkFiles) is my new favorite member. That M60 was a real treat. MikeB and I were happy to see so many people stick with the C&R theme. I got to try out so many bolt actions (Arisaka, K31, Enfields) that it was a tremendous day of history lessons and fun.

Thanks to Eric Rohrbaugh www.rohrbaughforum.com for paying for all the food. I hope everyone got a chance to thank him for feeding the Army. :D

So much to talk about....

So many pictures to sort through...

Who had fun!?

It was nice to meet EClancey. I'd like to get together some time and talk about getting a firearms education.

I'll post some pictures in a bit, but I have a ton coming in the mail (via disk) that I'll have to wait for some of the better ones to come in.

Thanks for taking the group photo MikeB!! Aren't ya glad ya skipped out on the rock climbing?

Here's a few of the pictures I took.

Boy oh boy - did I miss out, or what!!!

Looks like a great day - and - heck M60 - <drool>.

Mike - I see Eric got his hands on CAR 15 again (couldn't see his grin but reckon it was there!). Looked sunny, and I guess hot too but hopefully no storms to spoil things. Glad it was such an apparent success.

Any chance of some ID's from group pic?

Boy I wish we could get something like that going here...

I said the same thing about 4yrs ago when I saw what the Utah guys were doing.

Took a few years to build up crowds like this but it can be done.

I pull from lots of gun boards, but mostly everything started out here about 4 or 5yrs ago. I started the "Rally Point" forum over at www.thehighroad.org and was active on the Regional forums on AR15.com, FALfiles.com and Ambackforum/Battlerifles.com.

For the first couple years we we lucky if 12 people showed up. But one of these days we'll probable end up with 80-100 people.

If we ever needed to start a MinuteMan Project in Pennsylvania, I think we could easily do it. :)

All of the pictures are available here.

Great pics! I hereby nominate MikeB as our official photographer. :)

I wish I had noticed the Krink while I was there yesterday. I'll have to spend more time on the rifle range next time.

Marcus...

I really enjoyed watching you shoot that "HAND CANNON", the concussion was fantastic as was the flames...LOL

Since this was my first, I didn't know what to expect, but WOW!!!! A real blast fest! I just wonder how many rounds were sent down range.

Very cool firearms everywhere...I loved every minute of it. A "BIG" thanks to Mr. Eric Rohrbaugh for being so considerate about feeding all of us and to Jamie Young for putting the shoot together.

Jamie...I'll be sending the pictures I took to you today, as I told you, if I didn't have sucky dial-up, I'd post the pictures myself.

I think Marcus may have trouble typing for a few days :D

That first picture is probably hanging on agent Schmuckatelli's cubicle wall

Here's some of our friendly neighborhood Range Officers (and Dead).

TK, glad you liked it. I still have a big grin on my face! :D
Geoff, the Auto Mag is actually a big pussycat. Didn`t I let you try it? My shoulder is what`s black and blue!
Thanks to the guy who gave me the tip about the recoil spring in my CETME BTW! Maybe it won`t beat the hell out of me anymore. :) Marcus

Here's a couple of Dead, modeling his SAR I and SAR II

Toten Kopf, Marcus and Dave Markowitz standing on the firing line.... and Eric Rohrbaugh and somebody else (identify thyself?)

P.S. Dave's got some explaining to do about his choice of back-stops. :D

Eric Rohrbaugh and TW (from the Rohrbaughforum) during R9 school.

How many of you got to shoot the R9?

P.S. Dave's got some explaining to do about his choice of back-stops.

I was defending myself against the vorpal bunny. Didn't you see him about to charge? I only had time to point the gun homeboy style because he was so close and low.

:p

My opinion of how much of a FAMILY man you are has changed.

Oh, you were referring to my source of cardboard target backers. Duh. I get it now.

I have an explanation for that. Umm, errr, ahhh....

Let me get back to you. :D
