I bought my Glock 19 about 18 years ago. They didn't have any generations back then. The gun has many rounds through it but I have no idea how many, could be thousands. The gun has never failed me. It is not my EDC anymore but does go to the range. Shoots good and I just may put it back in the rotation.. The only reason I stopped carrying it was I don't care for the holster I have.

Everybody makes holsters for the G19.

Interesting that you weren't happy with the accuracy of your Shield. I've always been blown away with how accurate mine is, especially considering size.

But, goes to show, picking a gun is a person thing. Good luck on your search.

Part of the problem with the Shield was that I didn't think it was fun to shoot at the range. At 3-5 yards, I could hit a target with decent accuracy, but at 7 yards things weren't as good. Could I hit center mass on a silhouette, yes. Could I consistently hit in the 10-9 area, no. It just wasn't fun, and I like to shoot.

I also have a 442 j frame that will work fine up to 5 yards. And every time I shot larger pistols with 4" barrels, I was instantly better. So, I went for the Glock. At some point, my range will probably have a 2.0 Shield with the new grip and better trigger available for rental. And when they do, I'll try it out to see if my accuracy improves over the 1.0 version.

Glocks are great guns. If thy ever make one in 357 Magnum I'll buy one! But currently no Glocks fit my ammo supply

I've been shooting handguns for quite a long time, and my collection had grown accordingly. But, until last year, I had never owned a Glock. 1911's and .357 revolvers had always tickled my fancy the most.

Then, I developed a curiosity for the G19, and I found a good deal on a new Gen 3. I bought it. And, I really, really like it. I don't know about all of the other Glock models, but I understand why the G19 is so popular. It points well for me, and I found the trigger to be easily mastered. It sits well in my hand and is just the right size. 15 rounds in a compact frame is a lot of punch. I even actually like the OEM sights. Its crazy reliable and has been 100% from round 1. It loves my 115 grain JHP reloads.

I don't see any other Glocks on my radar, but I'm not ashamed to say that this one has made itself welcome in my safe.

G29 :) To me its the only thing that Glock makes that no one else makes anything similiar

:) Your welcome.

Congrats! The Glock 19 is a very good pistol. Shoots extremely well and has lots of after market stuff available. Always goes bang, even with the metal and aluminum cased stuff. The only mod I'd make is the guide rod.
