John Lott: Last night on Think Tank...

For those of you who claim they would not mind registration..... there is an excellent article out there (don't have the URL) that explains this issue very well... the nut is... gun registration is claimed to be used to a) be able to track down criminals who have used guns. b) Prevent and prosocute those who are criminals from getting them.

The problems is that the SC has already ruled that, due to 5th amendment grounds. 1) the felon can not be prosocuted for not filling out a registration form. 2) if they do the form can not be used as evidence to prosocute them for violating the law. But having said that, those of us who are not convicted felons can be prosocuted as by not filling in the registration forms we are not incriminating ourselves.

If that is the case (which it is) what purpose does registration serve? There can only be one reason for registration since you can't use it against the bad guy... Think about it.

The debate is not about guns,
but rather who has the ultimate power to rule,
the People or Government.

Registration: a form of identifying a person to an entity for numerous purposes.
(Not from a dictionary, or reference. My own words.)

A person steals a car, and robs a bank, or convenience store. Assuming the tag # is gotten, what's the first thing that occurs?
I presume a visit to the owners residence to verify ownership, aliby, etc...

A car is caught on video running a red light (yellow timer is deliberately set too short??), where does the "invitation to donate" goto?

An auto owner is required in most, if not all States, to have some form of insurance. The point being to insure against libility damages suits...

Point:
If a firearm is registered, do you have to have insurance on it? Do you have to buy a sticker yearly to "operate" it, or even own it?
Do you have to pay taxes on it yearly, like you do with YOUR real estate?

Do you have to take your dog(firearm) to the vet(local LEO) to have rabies shots(fingerprint inspection)in order to have it on your property(home).

Will you have it destroyed(confiscated) at some point in time because some person(Anti) says it has a vicious propencity(lethal force)?

Will you be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment(harrassed/incarcerated), because you have possession of a rare(operating firearm), and valuable(wards off criminals) dog?

Will your family be murdered(no-knock raid/LEO staged for armed confrontation) because some caring person(2nd time loser confidential informant) doesn't want to see anymore violence(watches footage of deadly raid later)in their lifetime?

Registration=Confiscation.
Confiscation=SLAVERY

Consider this option...
The slavery issue was largely because of ineffective weaponry on the part of certain cultures. This acute inability to fight on even terms led to the deaths, and capture of great numbers of people. All destined for the slave market.

It should be known that without effective manner of warfare, defeat is certain, and your demise is in the hands of the victor.

Another factor that led to the insurance of obedience of slaves, was the outright murder of individuals who resisted the tyranny of slavers.
Their deaths served a two-fold purpose.
1. They were eliminated.(Ruby Ridge, Waco)
2. And their deaths were force witnessed by the other slaves, thereby setting example for those with similar ideas of resistance.(again, Ruby Ridge, Waco)

Are we a candidate to this form of control and ownership by our own government.

Has the dog become the master?

Best Regards,
Don

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms;
History shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

Get control of all means of publicity, and thereby get the peoples' mind off their government by focusing their attention on athletics, sexy books and plays, and other trivialities.
Divide the people into hostile groups by constantly harping on controversial matters of no importance."

Here in Kalif. we have had handgun registration since the '70s and the answer to your questions noted above is NO. Anyway, there's not much I can do at this point if there ever is mass confiscation (IMO - not likely) in the future, 'cause they already know what I have.

I forgot to mention that I saw the FOX News clip of Lott against an ex HCI president debating.

One of the things that Lott said was that Hawaii is an island with total gun registration. The police there, says Lott, cannot produce a single case where registration led to the solving of a crime committed with a gun.

My CCW application asks for the make, model, caliber and serial number of the firearms I intend to carry. Tell me that is not registration?
