JHP-FMJ and coming trends

Exactly WHY would you need to stock up on self-defense JHP ammo? Buy 50-100 rounds and that's that. Spend the rest of your money on FMJ target ammo. Done. NEXT!

+1

I've got 100-200 rounds of JHP for every caliber stocked up. The rest is FMJ. If you must stock up on ammo and $$$ is a factor, why not FMJ? It's better than nothing and with the money you save you can buy more guns.

I think alot of folks are gonna have their estate auctions some day, with crates full of hoarded ammo going on the block. Well someone else will get the money and someone else will get to shoot it!

I wanted to stock up on JHP becuase it is the best for SD, im not looking to kill hundreds as suggested... I posted becuase i wanted a discussion as to a what would be best for stocking up and b. what is everyone else buying up alot of.

I just want to be prepared incase something happens here and i need to depend on my self for protection for some prolonged period.

How about this- I went for mostly Win. white box JHP for my 45 as well as ball, I got both expensive JHP for my 9 but bought before the panic, as well as plinking ball. Got plenty of ammo for revolvers. Plenty of Eastern bloc steel cased for rifles. Loading dies for saving money on alot of stuff I own. But nearly all ammo was purchased before the current panic season. I smelled a trend starting, saw prices rising and expected no downturn, and stocked up as I did not have pressing needs to fill any holes in my firearms "collection". So I guess I sorta jumped off before the train wreck.

That's cool with me. I can hear the Auctioneer now "Look what we have here, folks! 5,000 rounds of 9mm ammo! Still in the original boxes! As you know, this hasn't been available to citizens for over 30 years now! Lets start the bidding at $10,000."

Only $2.00 a round? That will be a pretty low starting bid in 30 years...:D
