If you will, take a look at the second picture in #1 and then at the left side of your 1873 revolver. Does it look like the ejector rod could have made that "lump" in the holster.
The Kanji are right on the leather inside the flap, or so I've seen. This one has this white fiber layer thing inside the flap with the "Rothier 146" on it. I at first thought the white layer thing was added later and perhaps the Kanji was underneath. I now think that this white covering, or lining, is normal for Lebel holsters.
