Jack Bauer?

I don't remember what he had, just that he used the time-honored mis-TV-ism "I'm out of bullets." I like Jack, but think as a top agent he might be more steeped in the proper firearms-related lingo!

You know, just recently we decided to watch '24'. But since we have never seen it we got the first of the series. Just got past Bauer getting his family away from the kidnappers and offing most of them.

I was surprised when his old buddy called and said two assassins were trying to kill him Bauer gets his one handgun from the locker and rushes out to save him. I would think a long gun would have been the answer (and notice is buddy did get killed to.)

Well, I'll just say Jack ain't much of a shot. And his gun handling skills running around with the gun in a two handed hold in-between his legs is awful.

And I never understood what the CIA was doing working inside the U.S.

And I'm shocked the CIA used SIGs with stainless or chromed slides. I'd think they would want a dark colored pistol for obvious reasons.

But that's Hollywood.

Oh, the show is good. I like it. But alot of the 'science' is crap (like CSI.) But then I didn't expect it to be a John Le Carre/George Smiley thing.

So they are getting HKs now. Well it's good as any and would do fine.

Well he's Jack Bauer, and the CTU has it's own way of doing things, like removing parole bracelets with die cutters.

Well Tiny,
If you really believe this stuff:

http://24.wikia.com/wiki/Counter_Terrorist_Unit

"The Counter Terrorist Unit was an elite branch of the CIA that operated under the Department of Defense. The agency was overseen by the National Security Council, of which the Secretary of Defense is a part. Thus, the Secretary of Defense had some legitimate authority over CTU, as seen in Day 4. CTU was established in 1993 after the bombing of the World Trade Center.

CTU was headquartered in Washington, DC, and established domestic counter-terrorism divisional field offices in major U.S. metropolitan areas. The purview of CTU was to investigate the activities of domestic or foreign terrorists inside America's borders and to prevent terrorist attacks. CTU employed a range of people ranging from investigative agents, intelligence agents and undercover operatives to tactical field teams and special agents to oversee unit activities.

CTU was specifically set up to coordinate activities with the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the Secret Service, as well as local authorities. As a branch of the CIA, CTU operations were overseen by both Congress and the Executive Branch of the federal government. "

Really, who frickin' cares what gun a poorly acted, darn near farsical, alledged intelligence operative carries on a TV Show?:barf:

24 is a joke, albeit with an interesting format, for one season.

Like any good soap opera, one has to let go of reality to make it work. It's like general hospital with guns. :D

Watching it again, seems pretty obvious it's a usp compact. Also, watching it again, seems pretty obvious how terrible the show has become since the first couple seasons.

*DISCLAIMER* My name has nothing to do with the show. Just thought I would let people know
