It's going to be another BOY!

Congrats on your new Ursa Minor addition. ;)

Ko, I think the K is potassium? Sometime I go on rather unconventional diets for my exercise progamme and occasionally get to low on potassium and the old gums really start to bleed. I guess I aint as busy as J Ventura? :D
I try and find a "high" does of the stuff 100%RDA in supplements store but cant for the life of me.They are all four percent or some useless amount. Guess the babies are getting all the stuff!

George, congratulations!!

LMAO @ the 'umbilical cord', it was the first thing that popped into my mind, as well!!

Oberkommando, IIRC, Vitamin K is entirely different than potassium. It is usually produced by the skin, in response to sunlight, and helps the clotting process. An injection of straight potassium, IIRC, will stop the heart. Somebody with more up to date medical training than I have, please correct me if I'm wrong, the EMT course I audited was a LONG time back! :(

George!

Congrats! Don't tell me that it is Christmas day that she is due! :D

We have three boys, so far, and have child number 4 on the way (due Christmas day, BTW). We won't find out what it is until the moment of truth (like unwrapping a present! :) )

Numbers 2 and 3 were born at home with a midwife and they have been the BEST experiences for us. We only had number 1 in the hospital because we really didn't know what we were doing. But, we found that particular environment cold and uncomfortable. Plus, the $5.00 asprin tablets were quite a surprise!

Some thing else that helped a great deal was a course in child birth called, "The Bradley Methood, Husband Coached Childbirth".

Great news George... Congrats to all the soon to be and recent parents. A story:

My 6 year old was a complete surprise, he was born while I was stationed in the Army at Ft Hood. The wife had to be choppered to Fort Sam Houston for the birth. I 'bout lost them both.
2 1/2 months preemie, he stayed in the
neo natal icu for that entire time. We were afraid he wouldn't make it. Wife was ok a few days later.

For all the things I know about Army doctors, and how they do business--- to the point and all business....

I feel I would have never brought him home if it weren't for them and a blessing from a Mormon friend.
He was born a Brooke Army Med. Center in 1994
I thank them every day in my heart when I see that little troublemaker out playing or I carry his sweet little self off to bed.

Kids are wonderful.

Some people would have you believe you don't have a right to defend your kids, family and self with a gun. To that I say "BULLSH&T"

I have the right to defend them any way I feel fit.

I won't give him up now, he worked too hard to get here. I at least owe it to him to help him grow and live to be an old man.

And when I am gone, maybe he will take some of the lessons he learned from his Mom and me and use them for good.

Congradulations! Our 5th child was the last I would want my wife to have in a hospital. It is like trigger locks legislation . . . one size fits all.

One little, two little, five little Kodiacs...

George, you're gonna tie that thing in a knot, right? I don't think all the ammo and component manufacturers in the WORLD can keep your family stocked up now. :D

mnealtx,

yeah me thinks (K) is potassium FOR (mineral). Helps maintain intra-cellular osmotic pressure;needed for nomal nerve impulse conduction, glycogenesis, protein synthesis.

K is not produced by skin, that is vit D.

Vitamin K and B is synthesised by intestinal bacteria.VITA K is essential for formation of clotting proteins and some other proteins made by liver' as intermediate in electron transport chain, participates in oxidative phosphorylation in all body cells.

George I know this is exactly the info you had in mind earlier and know that it will help you a great deal :D
