It seems like the election is starting to slip to the Dems!

I dont know about you guys but I am starting to get a little edgy in the final days before the election.

You turn on the news and you see Queene Latifa (ex gangster) recruiting all her inner city thugs to vote for Gore (some of which are the reasons we carry firearms in the first place) along with what appears to be every other celebrity they can dig up. What was Queene Latifas reasoning for voting for Gore? Let me tell you, because he use to ride a motorcycle :) Thats a human brain working on its highest level isnt it?

Also, what the hell is going on in Florida? This issue gets me nervous the most because we loose that state and our battle for the white house is most certainly lost. Still, I have no idea what bush was doing in Cali(where he will loose anyway) when the state that could decide if he wins or looses is slipping away right in front of his eyes.

Now this DUI thing is dug up four days before the election, I can only hope that the Dems will be found out for this low blow and it will backfire and show the American people just how despirate Gore is right now and what lows he will sink to so he can take the white house. I only hope the American people will realise that what happened 24 years ago was then and this is now.

Then again, Clinton would certainly get reelected if he was running even though he was getting his D**K sucked in the white house where he lives with his teenage daughter and wife, got caught lying to the people and the majority still loves him.

For the state of MA (where I live) and the city of Boston. Let me just say besides the fact that there are many sky scrapers, trains, expressways, millions of cars taking up every inch of space, we still have or share of sheep that just go with the herd.

There is no morals left to stand by today, there is no standards the the majority of people still hold high.

Anyway, I am nervouse and I am certainly less confident than I was this time last week. Once again, my fingers are crossed.

Thank god the rest of the country is not like MA.

I was beginning to feel pretty cocky and confident that W was as good as in a few days ago. But now I to am a bit concerned. A bit concerned? I couldn't sleep last night after learning about the DUI.
*shudder*

Ditto. I went to sleep with it on my mind and woke up with it on my mind. There's a gunshow this weekend. Think I'm going to drain the ole' bank account of all but emergency funds and buy everything that I've been planning on, if the price is reasonable.

Don't sweat the DUI. In this country, we are conditioned and almost encouraged to abuse alchohol. Any voter who has ever tipped an extra glass or two before climbing into his/her car can relate to this and should not judge too harshly. At least dubya admitted his problem early on while Gore has never come clean on his lying, exagerations and other transgressions.

Bush will win in a landslide of electoral college votes. The DUI issue will not hurt his campaign. In fact, it may even help him as he admitted to problems with alcohol before, and now people can see how severe the problems were that he overcame.

The Electoral College is the only thing that worries me... Bush more or less has the popular vote, but it's close in several key Electoral states. My worry is that Nader followers will jump ship and vote Gore into office.

You can stop right there. Any media show, short of Fox News will absolutely tell you Al Gore has this all sewed up. This is the same media outlet that believed BC saying "I did not have relations with THAT women!" and then the talking heads attacked ANYONE who gave alternate viewpoint.

Don't let the morons get you down. Just know that GW is a shoe in. I have now heard three different talking heads say things like "Well, Al Gore COULD WIN on Tuesday." or "Al Gore has done his best. It's not his fault if the public can't see that...." or "Well, even though Al Gore is going to lose on Tuesday, he gave it a good fight." or "Those Republicans are only winning because they won't talk about the issues."

Yada, Yada, Yada... Talk is cheap, so what does that make the talking heads. Cheepo's, that's what.

Paladin, don't worry about Electoral College, it's not going to be even close. GW's win will approach Ronald Regans landslide. Watch it unfold in about four days. It wouldn't even surprise me if Al Gore gives his concession speech BEFORE California numbers are in, just like Jimmy Carter did.

According to PoA Bush has 231 electoral votes. Gore has 168. 139 are up for grabs... of those 139, Bush only needs 39 to win.

He can afford to lose a lot of those close states and still win the electoral vote. The real question is that the same poll shows Gore gaining popular support as of last night.

We need to keep fighting until this is won and not get too cocky. Things are still looking good but it certainly isn't any time to rest.

Wallew,

Your words are refreshing to say the least, I can only hope that you are right.

I live in Massachusetts so maybe that can help you see where my negative outlook is comming from. If you could here some of the people here you would think we already lost.

By the way!
Hs anybody heard the news on AL Gores buddy that came out about how he and AL got stoned constantly in colledge, he supplied Gore with pot for years, they got stoned and drove around, smoked opium together and all kinds of crap like that. After that a couple other college buds also came out and said that they have actually supplied Gore with weed as late as the early 90's.

Wonder if that will show up on the front page,,I read the entire article on another board.

I am with Buzz, I went to bed thinking about it and woke up thinking about it. I am past edgy. I have never been as concerned about a presidential election. My problem is I don't have a lot of faith in the sheeple to see what is happening. My dad told me today to stop worrying about it so much before I give myself a heart attack.

In todays local paper there's an article taken from the Gannett News Service that says in brief that "Gore struggles in final days of campaign".

Their polls say that Bush leads in ratings of likability and thrusworthiness.

One of the Democratic spokesmen, Paul Begala, said, "Gore ought to be ahead by 20."
They are puzzled in these final, frantic days of the campaign.

The DUI thing just may hurt the Dems more than they want it to. Tom Connelly, the Maine lawyer and Democratic activist who leaked the story, just may have acted on his own, I doubt it, in this but he may have done more damage to Gore than he thought possible.

A local county here in NJ that has always been a Republican stronghold says that, "DUI issue won't change votes." The article is favorable toward Bush.

I know that it won't change my mind, I'm voting for GWB and so is my Wife.

Hang in there gang. I heard an excellent interview with Rassmussen(of PoA Poll fame) on Friday afternoon and he paints a picture of both popular and electoral votes SOLIDLY in Bush's favor. As he termed it, short of something catastrophic happening(he did not think the DUI was anything more than a blip) Gore will have to pull rabbits out of his hat and win just about every "undecided" state.

He also stated the other polls(and pundits) that have the race "too close to call" are way off. Only Fla. was to close to call from his standpoint. He had Bush now clearly up in PA. and numerous others now considered toss-ups.

Hang in there and don't let the garbage proceeding from the mouths of apologists get to you.

Chris..

Yeah, there seems to be an all-out celebrity blitz against Bush in these last days (with the media's help). If you got all your info from the sheeple TV, you'd think that Gore was going to win in a landslide, but it just isn't so, fortunately - it's going to be close.

The media is an extension of the Democratic party and they are trying to salvage Gore's campaign. Why do you fall prey to this? I find it absolutely unbelievable that you would attribute honor and objectivity to the reports that you read. Just make sure that you get out the vote!

Guys, the bottom line is that we need to make sure we get out and vote. And we need to make sure our buddies get out and vote. Because if we think that we've got it sewn up (and it really is close...), we'll get hosed. Big time.

It's Wednesday morning and a new day has dawned! "W" has won the election and it was nowhere near the "close" race the press has been making of it. In addition, the Congress has remained conservative, too. We all breath a deep sigh of relief and start our day reveling with the heady knowledge that we'll be putting out the trash in January and the Whitehouse and our country are back on track after eight full years of knuckleheads at the healm.

That's what will happen next week, guys and girls. Sometimes it tough to kill an infection with even the toughest antibiotics but W has what it takes and, while I not wearing rose-colored glasses, I'm confident that the country will do the right thing come Tuesday.

Just make SURE that everyone you know votes. I'm taking the day off just to make sure that anyone who needs a ride will go to the polls. Ignor anything that the press tries to slam up on your screen. They're just trying to grab your attention and increase their ratings. They'll say or do anything just to make sure their numbers look better than their competition.

Hold your head up high and get into that voting booth and, for the first time in a long time, vote FOR someone instead of against someone. :)

Vote for Bush on Tuesday and vote often! :D

Rome

Rome,
If you hadn't said that, I would have. GWB next prez. It's a shoe in. Landslide the likes of which hasn't been seen since RR!!

Everybody relax. Short of God himself coming out of the heavens and annointing AL GORE personally, GWB has NOTHING to worry about. My .02!!

I will make a 2.5 hour drive just to load up a herd of dedicated americans and deliver them and my humble self to the polls to vote against the Great Evil on election day.
Ages range from 28 to 88.
Few of us even like the knot we are voting for.
I hope Dick Cheney takes the punk by the neck before the innaugeration and shows him the Constitution, saying: This is why we are here!!

I think that a DUI from one's past is non-consequential.

If it has merit, then most politicians in WDC would be a quakin in their chairs.
Especially Ted Kennedy, Mr. Chappaquitik(?SP?)himself.
When this guy dies, the embalmer will drain his blood to use for the next 100 cadavers...
He's so pickled, he's kosher. And a Demo version at that.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time worrying about the outcome of Tuesday. If we win, then I'll celebrate. If we loose, then I'll prepare.
I can only hope that Gore and company disappear into the Burmuda Triangle. You know, the one that goes all the way up the coast, where all the other planes have been mysteriously splashing.
