It is finished. Finally the new purchase.

That you were able to put 200 rounds through a 9 Luger subcompact and not complain about your hand hurting is a testament to the P938. You likely couldn't do that with your LCP.

That's exactly right. My LCP would have killed me. I shot another 200 today. Not one single jam or malfunction. It really shoots nice. Now if the shooter would shoot nice we'd be good to go. My wrist feel like they've had a workout after today. I'll give it break tomorrow. I know my dad wants to do some shooting this weekend.

Not bad at all Scatcatt. You are doing exactly what you should be doing and it will only get better. Like already mentioned, 200 rounds is going to fatigue you a bit with any handgun not to mention a subcompact like your Sig. Fifteen feet you say? Looks like your hitting center mass, well done. You keep at it with that Sig and then throw some lead with a full size 9mm, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with your progress.

I wish I did have full sized 9mm. I'm hoping to shoot my Ruger 22/45 that my loving husband bought me this weekend. That should be a confidence booster. It's hard to miss anything with that gun. My dad bought a new Smith & Wesson .22 revolver that I can't wait to shoot. $3.50 for a box of ammo is sounding pretty good to me right now. I'm ashamed of the money I've spent on ammo this week. I've chalked it up to part of the gun expense. That's what it cost to buy and break in a new gun.

"I needed a gun that felt safe to me and one that I felt I could shoot well."

Well done on both counts. The 938 shoots well, and it can be safely carried "cocked and locked".

I have only two complaints about my 938:
1. I felt like I was passing a kidney stone when I started peeling cash out of my wallet to buy it. It cost more than my previous two handgun purchases combined.
2. All things being equal ... WHY does Sig not include a second magazine with this firearm?

1. In my experience, Sig makes a great product. As per the actual firearm, you can expect excellence and safely bet on not being disappointed. The same seems to be true of HK. In both cases, you'll pay out the nose for it. Of course, I've had similarly good experiences with Walther and there's a reason I own more of them. :p

2. This is a darn good question. Right now, it looks like they come with one and some models include a voucher to get a second magazine later. With so many other manufacturers offering two or even three, it only adds to the cost divide with Sig.

Right, it came with a holster. I would have opted for an additional magazine instead. Having said that not one gun I've purchased has had two magazines. My LCP only came with one. My Ruger 22/45 only comes with one also. I don't know why that is.

I've purchased 2 Sigs recently, a P229 40 and a 320C. When I registered them online I got coupons for 20% off of a store order. I used one to buy the 9mm conversion kit for the 229 and the other to pick up some 9mm mags.

On carry:

I am wide open to suggestions on what has worked for other people.

I'd recommend the SmartCarry system as a holster type for a small pistol, or a decent IWB set-up appendix carry although all that depends on your own needs and body shape.

Again, for me, I'd err toward Condition 2, but I think that is largely down to my typically carrying a DA/SA revolver.

Nice pistol, BTW.... ;)

Congratulations. Good choice. The P938 is much nicer gun than the Shield, as I'm sure you found out by the price differential.

You are deluding yourself if you think it is any better gun than the Shield...although, I do like 938. The Shield will match the 938, round for round.

OP...you will be pleased with your purchase.

That's some good shooting, keep it up! You may want to look online at Galloway Precision for the hammer spring they have for the p238/938. It brings the trigger pull down to 5 or so pounds and makes a nice difference. I think the part is less than $20.

Great idea! Done. Thank you. The trigger has loosed up a lot already. I've fired about 500 now.

Scatcatt, I read somewhere on the Sig Forum that it is NOT recommend that you carry either an P238 or P938 with a round chambered and at half cocked. It seems that there have been problems carrying in this condition. I usually don't post if I'm not certain about the subject. But this is a safety issue so please do some research. I carry both of my Sigs in condition one. I like everything about my P238 and 938 except for the triggers. To stiff for me, but that is better then being to light I guess.

I'm jealous of your range time!

I am blessed with an easy location to shoot. I shoot out back and this weekend I went to my parents house and we shot both Saturday and Sunday. My dad set up a place for us by the barn. I've probably had closer to 600 through it now. I did spent a lot more time shooting with my target pistol because it's just fun.
