ISRAEL last night threatened to assassinate Palestinian Prime Minister Ismael Haniyeh

President George THEN didn't drive a car. President George NOW prefers the oil companies to the people and thus we continue to be involved with our enemies (oh, 'allies').

my turn

ONLY if they assasinate him with a fairly small (but not TOO small) nuclear device.

Iran = nuclear program = Israel gonna use one or more in the area eventually, ay?

As I type this I'm laughing, but only becvause I live so far away

I am with Israel all the way on this one. I have alway's been on their side.
They are not the ones that go to the market places and blow up innocent women and children.
Israel has only used force to defend themselves and keep their enemy's from getting an advantage to destroy them.
Israel is has the right of way on this one.

*But* they've done their fair share of antagonizing also.
The Arab-Israeli conflict is a game of tit-for-tat writ large.
In a game of "tit-for-tat" the "tit" and the "tat" are generally supposed to be about the same size.

One of the Palestinian "tats" was to murder an innocent pregnant mother and all four of her daughters, from the age of nine to a toddler of the age of two strapped in to her car seat.

Care to point out an Israeli "tit" that's roughly equivalent?

Here's the kind of value that Palestinians place on their children:

Philistine's and David

Has not changed.
The name has been changed but the people have not. They are one and the same. Amazing when you think about how we have helped out this situation. LOL

HQ:rolleyes:

First, you read this in a newspaper and you believe it is true?

Last year I was interviewed by the New York Times. The reporter fabricated quotes from me out of whole cloth. I'm not saying that he misquoted me by changing a word or two or changing the tone of what I was trying to say. I'm saying he fabricated a quotation out of whole cloth. This quotation said something that I never did or would say, because it simply was not true.

Don't believe everything you read.

Second, do you really think the Israelis would be stupid enough to put something like this on paper?

The dog that barks doesn't bite. The absence of consistency destroys Israel. Haniey is the son of a bitch, but Abu Mazen is not better.
Before Oslo agreements in 1992 there was no even occasional shooting from Arab side. Every concession brings more and more terror: riots, suicide bombers, and now rocket fire on Israeli cities. When Israeli goverment promices more and more concessions, more retreatments, why Arabs should turn away from the way of confrontation?
Yes, it is self-made problem in many ways.

Don't know about the accuracy of the story but, you don't think they'd do it? Remember the Munich Massacre?
I don't know if they made the threat or not. I doubt it.

Would they kill the PM to get their soldier back? I'd be surprised. They could have killed Arafat many, many times, but didn't, and they had many more reasons to kill him than to kill the current PM (who, I suspect, doesn't really have a lot of power).

Israel would face huge condemnation if the assasinated a head of state.

Since the beginning of evil wars have been created by the elderly and fought by the young. Ultimately the innocent pay the price of the elderly creating wars. Now for the first time in human history those fighting wars have the ability to carry to fight directly and personally to those responsible for creating a war. I frankly have no problem with rulers who make the war becoming targets in combat.

when the arabs stop lying about wanting negotiations and peace with Israel..then things might work itself out...the arabs are so full of hatred that they save no strength to build a peaceful, sucessful society-nation anywhere in the middle east...

Israel is 100% right in all of this.Israel should keep the west bank and Gaza.Let stupid Syria give some land to those foolish Palestinians.
