Is Yellow a Good Color for a Sporting Shotgun? -- Photo of shotgun

The Browning Cynergy Sporting Yellow shotgun seems to have failed on the market. I dealer I have dealt with told me that they are having to close the model out.

Why did this Cynergy model fail? Do you think that its color had anything to do with this??

Would you want to own and shoot this gun? The Cynergy is supposed to be a totally awesome shotgun.

Browning unloaded a bunch of these to the dealer at a huge discount, and he is now selling them for a whopping 55% off the MSRP, which is quite a huge discount for a brand new Browning.

Would this gun perhaps be a good buy at such a good price? I wonder if I could get used to the color.

Could you?

P.S. -- On top of everything else, Browning is including with the shotgun a really nice custom fitted hard case, a great soft carrying case, and an awesome Browning shotgun range bag, and a $100 rebate check to boot!

They are even extending the warranty to 5 years on top of everything else.

No way, thank you, very much!

Some years ago, I was on a morning squad at an away NSSA tournament. When I was up on station, I reached for the first shell in my pouch and was rewarded by a bee sting. All I can figure out: the bee was attracted by the yellow 20-ga hulls. While it was determining that the yellow wasn't a flower, I'd interrupted its routine. Since the Africanized Killer-Bees are now in SoCal, there's no way I would consider shooting that Cynergy. If a yellow hull can get you stung, just think what could happen with a yellow gun!

All day long! As long as it shoots the color wouldn't bother me a bit. I would probably add a little purple as in "LSU" and the value would probably increase. :D

I like the fit and feel of the cynergy but this model would have to come down to 1,000 or less for me to give it a whirl.

But would I shoot a yellow gun? Absolutely. Very little I wouldnt shoot if the price was right.

I don't think that you can even buy a Browning Citori new anymore for under $1,000, much less the Cynergy.

Where does the battery pack go? Does it come with a keyless chuck?

That's quite possibly the most extraordinarily ugly shotgun I've ever seen.

It's a perfect companion piece for this:

If I were in the market for such a shotgun, and had the money, I'd get it because it's a great deal. Then, I'd see if I could find an affordable replacement stock. If there isn't one, I'd see about dyeing it or getting it painted.

I think I might go with a digital camo paintjob just for laughs.

I thought that outdoor bug lights were yellow because the eyes of bugs detected mostly blue and ultraviolet light and yellow was below their seeing thresh hold.
Maybe that bee sting was just a coincidence?

For $1500 I'd do it, IF I were in the market for an O/U.

The Cynergy is a good gun, and the yellow, well, while it isn't really in my wheelhouse I do prefer the look of the Euro-style furniture. I can deal with the color- you wouldn't be accidentally picking up anybody else's gun (or vice-versa), that's for sure.

While I'm a big fan of the Browning Citori - the Cynergy design just hasn't made me feel warm and fuzzy ....so I would pass on it for a personal gun.

At $ 1,600 ....it might be a good option to put one away for one of the kids ....have to think about it... Its flashy / not my style ...although I do think the Benelli Super Sport is a good looking gun too ...

JMO, but I think it looks like a fanciful or sci-fi movie-makers dream of what a shotgun should look like - IOW, it belongs in a movie ILO the field.

I'd buy it... It would definantly stand out, but in a good way i think. As long as you shoot well, nobody can make fun of you. :)
