Is there anyone out there that is 30 and below who carrys a mid to large revolver?

Make mine .40 or bigger

I'm a middle-aged coot (48) and just today I got out the Taurus .44 special snubby and carried it. I would prefer a 6 shot cylinder, but I'd rather have 5 rounds of .44 special than 6 rounds of .38 special.

My wife's home alone gun is a 4" S&W model 25 mountain gun in .45 Colt; I normally carry a .45 auto (Glock, H&K USP, SIG P220 or Kimber 1911) but would not hesitate to carry a revolver, as long as the caliber starts with the number "4."

I have carried my 4 inch S&W model 29, loaded with .44 special Silvertip HPs on occasion, too. IMHO, I'll always take a .40 or larger caliber gun - revolver or auto - over the midsize caliber guns.

IMHO, caliber is more important than total number of bullets on tap. :D

I carry a 4'' GP oudoors that I can make an eyeball shot with a seven yards. But for intown I carry a Glock30 and 642 I love my GP but I think the glock is smarter and easier.

just entered the 30's, but I am fond of saying I carry a 19, either a smith or a glock. My favourite is my 2.5 inch 19 wheelgun. All my friends ask me why I carry it and I say cuz its cool. Most will then say it was cool back in the 1970's. (One of my father's police detective friends carried one when I was a child, I think that is where that came from).

Then my friends point out how few rounds it holds, then I say "you have seen me shoot this right?" which usually shuts them up. It is one of the best shooters for me. I also have a nice 3.5 inch 27 that I carry a bit too.

When we did security work, we did the reverse, the revolver was our duty gun, and autos were our backups. Our backups, however being full size glocks and sigs that we would get out of the car when it got dark and stick in our belts. South Central was fun back in those days.

I'm not LE or anything, but I do a lot of backpacking and hunting and occasionally have to go into less respectable parts of town.

Backpacking I carry either my SP101 3" in .357, or my Redhawk 5.5" .44mag. Depends on what critters may be around. Desert and low hills don't have bear, but up higher I want some more authority. I also don't wanna worry about feed problems from rain, rust, dust, cold, heat, garden gnomes with magnetic fields, etc.

When in town, I have an auto in my truck at times. .45acp Glock. I certainly wouldn't need all 14 rounds in it to take care of a typical situation, and could probably get by with my .357 instead, but why tempt fate? Be good with all your guns and make every shot count, but take every advantage that technology can avail you...

Oh, and I'm 27.
