Is There A Flag Flying At Your Place?

Thanks......

Thanks John...... I understand the Prof has freedom of speach but the neighbor has the freedom to display her flag too...... God Bless America ;)

Never a dull moment on Main Street.... Gotta love it ;)

and your correct the topic was and remains flying the flag........and what it means to us all........and in many different ways........

Thanks again..... :D

Flying a flag or not has little to do with patriotism. Some of the most anti american people in this country are often seen with flags, look at our politicians!

I fly it because I can, because the big RO in the sky chose to allow me to be born and live in this country. I do not think it makes me more American or patriotic than the next citizen. Patriotism is something inside of you, and should not be measured by symbols or appearances.

I certainly hope it offends certain people who see it, I will be most pleased that it does.

And I am embarrassed to say that I fly it 24/7/365 and do not have a light on it at night, and I should :o

Have to correct that this weekend :)

And fix the damn flagpole so I can fly it proper and take it off the barn.

I have flown a flag everywhere I've lived since I was discharged in 1976. It flies 24/7 and is lit at night. I fly it because I love seeing it, it's still one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen.

2400 - I hear you.........

Amen and thanks for that simple and basic response....... I should learn to do just that......speak in one or two sentences and say as much as you did... I tend to go on and on and likely folks get tired of Rojoe67 and my ramblings....... ;)

An American Flag flies over my home and business every day. It will continue to fly as long as there is breath in me and my family.

My son just turned 15 months old and I am already teaching him the pledge of allegiance.

Only a small room. No 'place'. Does this qualify?

On 9/11, we hauled down our USMC flag and hung out our Stars and Stripes. We don't have the setup where we live now, so we let our uniforms do our talking...but I miss having the flag flying.

I was very proud when my folks started flying one. My mom makes it a point to bring it in every night when she turns off the light that illuminates it. I like that.

:D Please tell me the photo is to remember whom we are at war with right? Not you or your cousin Frank right? ;) The Pic of old Glory works for me too. Adapt, improvise and overcome - That's what Clint said at Heartbreak Ridge.

And if memory serves me correct that pipe on his back is a 23+ pound M60 automatic lead burping piece of art right? :D

Yes, we have had a flag on our house since we returned home from a trip to Europe during the week of 9-11. Didn't own a gun before then, but since have purchased several handguns, 2 rifles and a shotgun. My wife and I both got our CCW's and have since renewed. Shooting is now my favorite hobby and I'm a certified NRA safety range officer. We should all be prepared.

I fly the S&S at my house mainly for all the illegal aliens in my neighborhood, and to remind myself how lucky I am to be born in this country.

"I fly the S&S at my house mainly for all the illegal aliens in my neighborhood,"

you mean they have infiltrated virginia too? you should see it in texas. :barf:

I've flown the flag for most of the last 10 yrs . I agree it is sad how short the memories are . Many flags flown after Sept 11 . Not as many now . How quickly we Americans seem to forget :(

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum but I would like to throw my 2 cents in. The responses from W4KLR, XAVIERBREATH, K80 GEOFF and 2400 were more in line with my way of thinking. Yes, the flag does fly at my house and it has for quite a few years. This is something I do for my family and me. I do not do it to display my patriotism nor to impress the neighbors. It is the last thing I look at every morning when I leave for work and the first thing I see when I get home in the evening. The flag holds different meanings for all of us. Some people fly it to show support and others feel duty bound maybe due to prior service. Some fly the flag to honor a family member on active duty or perhaps to honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their life for this country. The important thing is that we can all make our own decisions because this country is free. My comments above are not intended to offend anyone nor criticize your reasons for displaying the flag on your home or property.
Next month I will have completed 20 years in the US Navy. The flag on display at my house is for me. I have 2 children (teenagers) that frequently have sporting events that I attend. Every time I hear the National Anthem, I still get goose bumps and a lump forms in my throat. I do not expect everyone to feel this way; it is enough for me that I do. I love what I do for a living and I would not change a thing about the past 20 years. If you ever want a deeper sense of appreciation for our flag, sit down and talk to a former POW. When you are away, that Flag represents home and everything you believe in. I have it on display at my home to remind me at all times what I have been doing for the past 20 years and what I will continue to do for the rest of my life.

No, but I'm glad you brought it up - this thread has inspired me to get one this week and put it up. I like the idea of the Gadsen too - where can you get those?
