Is There A Flag Flying At Your Place?

Just wondering how many flags are displayed right now? Is there a reason your not showing yours? Seems strange that the days and months after our 911 attacks American's (many) showed their patriotism and displayed our Stars and Stripes. I try to figure out why so many of these flags have been taken down. Seems to have been the thing to do? and nobody else is....bla bla bla..... you know what I'm talking about.

If you want to make this Ole Sgt. smile put yours up today. Spread the word to your family and friends. If someone ask why you did it tell them you did to honor our troops through out the world. You can also tell them because you like the sound of it cracking in the wind, the colors of brightness that it shines on us. And if none of that sounds good tell em because Sarge said to do it........

And thanks in advance............. It means a lot to a lot of folks. And don't she look great out there..... :D

I think it stranger that the flags didn't come out until AFTER 911.

Personally, I don't feel the need to wear my allegiance to anything on my car, house, jacket, etc. As a citizen, no one should need a calling card of my patriotism. A flag doesn't make you a better American.

I fly three flags on the pole outside. Stars and Stripes on top, next comes "Don't tread on me", then a Jolly Roger. Makes people think.

I agree with Handy. I spent years in the Air Force and feel I am as patriotic
as any one else. In fact if you must ask I respect the flag so much I hate seeing it on T shirts, bumper stickers, store ads to sell goods, etc.

We display the flag at our house. Not so much as to proclaim to the rest of society of our "patriotism", though I see no problem whatsover with such pride, but rather I simply enjoy to see it fly at our house. Commercial use of it is abused, I believe. But I'd much rather see the Stars and Stripes as opposed to some foreign one.

24/7/365 on 20' pole in yard with a spotlight during dark hours.

I add USN and USAF flags below the Ensign around Veterans Day.

I don't NEED to display patriotism. I WANT to do so.

Our son left for Afghanistan over a year ago, we hung this banner in our window, illuminated with a candle until he returns....for those not familar with this tradition, each star represents a family member serving in combat. Great grandmother had one in her window during WWII with 5 stars.

Stars and Stripes on a tall pole in our front lawn... we refuse to fly the new york flag though... :D I guess it's all about agreement. Neighbors down the street have two confederate flags hanging on their front porch.

No one else in our neighborhood has a U.S. Flag... damn communists!

I have almost always had a flag flying where I live. At the moment, not, because the storm which came through here this morning broke the staff. :( It will be back up very soon, however.

I started flying the flag of the United States of America in 1999 and, with the exception of some violently stormy nights, the flag has been on display 24 hours a day ever since (I keep it lit at night).

Symbols have great meaning to me. Flying the flag may not make me a better American, but it makes me feel like an American whenever I see it. That's enough of a reason for me.

I just wish our country was like it was the days after 9/11 minus the grief. It just sucks that it took that big of a tragedy to give Americans a reason to be nicer to each other. And yes there is a flag outside our house it makes our home look ........well American.

You bet'cha! It's tradition in my family, started just before WWII when my dad enlisted. I see it evokes a lot of opinion still, and I am glad that it does. Besides that, I think its a good looker!

There is a flag in my yard, and will be in my yard until I am dead and gone, then they can bury me with it, and give the one I EARNED to my widow.

It is a matter of pride. It is not to show I am more patriotic than anyone else, but a symbol of the pride and respect I feel for this nation, and for the men and women who have given their lives to keep those colors flying!

And yes, I salute it every morning and my kids know the pledge of allegiance.
(sp?)

I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States Of America.
And to the Republic for which it stands. One Nation. Under God.
Indivisible. With Liberty and Justice for all.
