Is there a cure for this disease?

Just purchased a PPQ not more then 2 weeks ago and havent even taken it to the range.. was visiting GM and picked up a glock 19 and my hand fell in love. Is it a sickness? Is it just a crush? I fear it may be much more.

Would Dr. Gupta or Dr. Phil be able to assist in this matter?

Dr. Steviewonder1 will step up and say NOT a sickness or disease of any sort. This is normal in our world as we know it today. I traded a G26 for a G-19 5 years ago and 6 months after that bought a second G-19. I had no remorse, just JOY! Enjoy that G-19 and look forward to very nice shooting!

Yeah, I got $700 and already want something again.... I am just lost as to what to buy, its also hard to get a lot of things right now. 1911's arn't in stock really, hard to find something you want. Online prices $50++ with transfer and shipping.

Might just go all out and get a colt 1911, I like the springfield 1911 fully loaded but colt is just better imo.

It has been my personel expierence that there is no cure. Relief only comes from a new gun and it is sweet. Doesn't last real long tho.
Once you've got the itch you'll be scratching til the end of your days......or your bank account.

I just super glued 10 year old Adidas sandals so I didn't have to take $30 out of the gun fund for new sandals.

Its true, its true :o Although now they are like new again, most of the tread is gone from the bottom. They have a lot of miles on them

The only illness I see here is you being made out of stone. How can you buy a gun and not go directly to the range? 2 weeks?

Welcome to my world; I got a P226 in 40 S&W 9 months before my wedding. Couldn't get any other guns because I needed to save the money. Since the wedding about a year ago, I've purchased a new rifle, a P229 Stainless Elite, CZ75B, S&W 1911PD and a S&W M&P Shield.....it is a sickness but I like being sick!

Next gun is going to be a W. German P226 in 9mm, Then a P226 Stainless Elite in 357 SIG and maybe even one of those new SIG 1911's in 357 sig(whenever they start shipping them). Going to need a bigger gun safe soon too...see ITS SPREADS!

I have the SIG-Sickness, you have the poly frame handgun sickness ;)

All things being equal though I need to hold and shoot a PPQ; sort of like the CZ75 its just one of those guns you read very little negative feedback about and a boatload of positive stuff.

Winchester 73:
I just glued my house slippers back together, and bought a WW2 Walther PP for $600.00
I guess we just have our prioritys straight!

(talking myself into a S&W Model 32 snubbie at the moment)

My advice would be to take the money for a second gun and invest in a training class first, if you have not already done so. Seriously, I have thrown a lot of money into different guns over the years and if I could do it again I would definitely have spent more on training than toward new guns.

If you have any money it should be spent on guns and ammo. I'd like to take them with me, bury me in my Silverado with my stuff.

For me, its bad that I have two bank accounts. One is the money Father gives for living allowance, and the other is all my saving/work money that goes into gun buying only. ;)

I can quickly cure you of your desire to purchase anything at Gander Mountain again.

Take a look at the prices at Buds, Jets or Gunbroker and I doubt Gander will be getting much more business from you.

As far as a cure for purchasing firearms? Forget it. You're screwed.

Not in all cases does Bud's beat GM. When you order on-line your purchase will have added shipping and the requirement to ship thru a FFL which could add as much as $75 plus to your purchase. Example. Can you get a NIB LCP at Bud's OTD for $322 plus no wait? Yes, I agree, GM prices are high but they do have some very good deals on occassion. I don't mind paying a little more, there are opportunity costs, to avoid the wait and hassle of buying on line.

You know there ain't no cure for the summertime blues.

PAD

Yes, it is a disease formally noted as PAD (Pistol Acquisition Disease). Its symptoms are evident in every post above, especially those where it is obvious that the poster is in denial about the nature of the affliction. It is a troublesome strain of the parent virus known as FAD (Firearms Aquisition Disease). Other forms of the infection are RAD (Rifles) and the particularly virulent SAD (Shotguns).
There is no known cure.
Alas.
