Is the Posse Comitatus Act being eroded?

I would find it very disturbing to learn that the military is being given more power to operate within the US. Of course I have no problem with people in the service, I just don't want to see that service misused by politicians who claim to be protecting us (whether or not they truly believe they are). It seems the exceptions in it are already horribly distrubing as are any drug related laws, in my opinion. Either way, I would like to think that people won't stand for having the armed forces patrolling their neighborhoods.

"There's a reason we seperate the military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."

I am less concerned about our sons and daughters serving in the United States Military than about the bureaucratic members of some of the Federal Branches of different types of law enforcement, like remember Ruby Ridge and Waco. Sometimes I have doubts about some of the big wheels in the Pentagon, also but that of course is political preferences wanting to use their rank to do things that Generals and Admirals shouldn't be concerned with.

Seems to me that, staying within the bounds of polite conversation, the act has already been eroded, seriously eroded that is.
