Is the Incredible Spinning Bullet on Ice Real?

Stupid

I say it has been faked. Yeah, that's the way "I" really vote, too. I use my conscious brain to decide what seems real in politics and in faked bullet photos. Last time I looked having a differing opinion was OK. Doesn't make either side "wrong" or "bad", just "different".

Ignorant versus Stupid

That's where you are wrong, in a factual or non factual issue there is always one side that's dead wrong. Ignorance is behind the wrong side, and that's not really "okay". Those bullets are either actually spinning or it's faked. If it's real you are wrong (and ignorant) aren't you? It's not really "okay" to be wrong if you are going to cast a vote on a critical issue. When you don't know it's better to say you don't know. A better way to put that when you don't know is to say "well I don't know for sure but I think it's faked".

There's usually a side that's wrong, the only difference is in what it takes to "convince" the side that's wrong when it is what it is.

If I said okay let's go to such and such ice and prove it you'd probably refuse on the grounds that this is crazy unsafe. You wouldn't want the proof you were wrong.

If you are using your conscious brain to determine something look again. In several videos that are posted there is a distinctly unsophisticated flavor to each one (meaning they don't have the resources to fake anything). They each show a spinning bullet that would be very hard to fake. In the one there is even the stroboscopic effect as the RPM's of the bullet changes as it slows down, again very hard to fake. The way the rifling rubs against the ice and makes a sound, that would be very hard to fake.

I suspect once someone such as yourself "makes up their mind" it's next to impossible to change it. I'm going to go ice fishing this year and I'll try it.

It scares me when in politics people vote as pertains to what "seems" real when they are virtually clueless about what "is" real. That's where emotions and false beliefs rule and that's scary.

It's okay not to understand the science and physics behind the spinning bullet, but don't come off like someone who knows what is going on or isn't.

As to this being dangerous, it's no more dangerous than shooting a container or bucket full of water. The ice is stopping forward kinesis just as water does only better. If those pullets that are landing a few feet away and spinning hit you it would not hurt you, obviously you can see they are only going a few feet.

Here's a little note on the word ignorant, it's okay to be ignorant as that does not mean you are stupid, just that you are unaware of something. People who are ignorant but take positions on issues they are ignorant in are truly stupid. I find it funny that stupid people hate to be called ignorant, to them they are being called stupid which is one and the same, and it must have to do with the fact that they are too stupid to understand that smart people don't mind being ignorant about something.

I don't know why people are getting so huffy and puffy over how unsafe this is, if these guys choose to shoot into ice on their free time who cares. I would not personally try it myself but I still think its pretty neat. Not to mention I have not heard one case in history where a ricochet actually hit someone with enough momentum, penetrated, and left a fatal wound. Sure you can lose an eye but if they are willing to take that risk then let them be. With that said the video looks real to me.

It must be a great comfort to know that you are always right and that no one else has an opinion which runs counter to yours. If you want to play your silly games then why not do so in public with witnessed, not "videoed" actions. There may be right vs wrong scenarios in your mind but asking someone to beilieve your chicanery "because you say it's so", is scary. IF you wishto have reasonable people to believe in you please do so in a scientific and professional manner. Having a couple of abject clowns like the "it won't matter if I get hit" yoyo who supposedly did this video as your scientific proof takes a lot away from your argument. Actually, woodguru, it seems as if you are the ignorant one here. I think this forum has more loonies masquerading as gun handy people than any other I have ever seen. So, you folks won't miss me when I'm gone. That fact gives me great comfort.

Cool hand - I just finished reading Lesson from Armed America and the last story in it included a man who shot a revolver, ricocheted include his son's head and killed him. I personally don't take bullets flying back at me any less seriously. You're right, they can do whatever they want, but shooting across a solid surface or water can cause ricochets that will kill people.

Pullets - young chickens??????

I have heard of shooting them into airplane windshields, but would never have believed a person could shoot them into ice and make them spin! (I guess I must be one of the "ignorant ones", but I am certainly willing to listen and learn!)
