I thought this was a Remington question but the Para guns are great guns from my experience. I have a few and they have all run flawlessly for a long time. Some have over 4000 rounds with no trouble at all. Any 1911ahould run for tens of thousands of rounds. The Paras, at least the ones I have, are good guns.
Also to clarify my earlier post:
I thought that is what I said the R51 is a redo that messed up the original Remington 51 which was a very clever, well designed, quality gun. The point is that the new Remington guns are basically junk. Rifles that misfire when the safety is taken off, guns that just won't fire or jamb . As far as Remington shotguns go, go with a Mossberg.

Let's straighten some things out here right now. The Remington model 51 came out nearly 100 years ago, first, and is a COMPLETELY different gun. The only thing that even comes close mechanics wise is the hesitation-locked system which Freedom Group and Para managed to completely F#(& up beyond all recognition. Give credit where credit is due; the original model 51 was a superb gun with a few flaws. The first generation R51 was a stupendous pile of flaws.
