Is it just me??

Everyone has different opinions about just about everything. If not, there would be nothing to talk about and no reasons for these forms.

If I see something posted I don't like, I don't loose much sleep over it, I just ignor it. Sometimes there is posters I wont read at all, and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way about me.

Life is just too short to worry about silly internet stuff.

a $2,000 handgun will be more accurate then a $2 one.

While I agree with that particular exampe (2k vs $2.00), price doesn't buy accuracy. I had a $350.00 RIA outshoot Sigs that cost twice that. I also have a Kahr that I LOVE... and I really want to brag about it. Truth is, though, some Kel-tecs will shoot better. There are plenty of $450.00 Glocks that will easily hold tighter groups than H&Ks. You do get what you pay for MOST of the time, but that is not always the case.

As to the OP... sorry but it is true that some guns are more accurate than others. I will even say that in passing conversation. I will not argue with anyone about it, though. That's just silly. I have my preference, they have theirs.

So you're saying your pistol was more accurate than another one?

All I can say is, you better put on a batting helmet to deflect the horsehide frigate88 may try to bean you with. :p

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like bouncing a baseball of a persons head who's says " this gun is more accurate than that one"

What gets me is the question, "is it accurate"? My reply usually is "no stupid you won't be able to hit the barn even if you throw the gun " Just my opinion now, 99+% of the guns produced are capable of 99+% more accuracy than the average person is capable of producing using said gun:cool:

ballistic coefficient is the main factual criterion

Hate to rain facts down when I'm going to be called dirty names, but BC has nothing to do with inherent accuracy of the projectile. The ballistic coefficient determines how fast it loses steam while flying through the air. Imperfections in the projectile manufacturing process determines the inherent accuracy. You can have a really high BC that will not shoot better than 1 moa. In the case of federal powershok factory ammo, you have a very low (.25 or so when the caliber averages .38) BC capable of .5 moa or better.

Again, I still don't get offended when someone says their pistol is more accurate then that pistol. If I think they are flat out liars and it annoys me, I invite them to the range to show them how accurate they really are. That is rare though. It's just not that big a deal to me.

In the case of accuracy, bullet performance ballistic coefficient is the main factual criterion...
If you made a top 10 list of contributing factors in practical handgun accuracy, "bullet performance ballistic coefficient" would not be on it.

I think some people are more accurate with particular guns than others, and it would not be the same for someone else. I think the guns typically are much more accurate than we are with them.

Here is what I have learned on the internet.

1) All guns are more accurate than the shooter, so there is no need to worry about accuracy.

2) Never run a cleaning jag through the bore from the muzzle end, because it could damage the crown and affect accuracy.

3) Never use a steel brush to clean the bore because in will damage the bore and affect accuracy.

Here is what I learned in real life from personal experience.

1) A gun with a damaged crown is still more accurate than me.

2) A gun with a worn out bore is still more accurate than me.

3) some people shoot at 12" paper plates at 7 yards for practice, others shoot at golf balls at 25 yards for practice.

Stay at a range long enough and you will see some of the stupidest stuff that could ever frustrate you to no end. Watch these forums and you will read some of the stupidest stuff that could ever frustrate you to no end. It just depends on the buttons it takes to set you off.

When it comes to range safety, speak up or stop the individual and let them know what they are doing wrong. If they don't stop, tell the range official. Do you really need to risk getting shot if they are doing something stupid?

When it comes to stuff on the internet, fuggedaboudit, as it doesn't make any difference what the opinion is anyway. Even the stuff you see here. Just go to the next topic and not let it worry you. Life can be too short for that type of worry.

Happy New Year to all and the Doc is out now.

What I find slightly annoying is when guys say "What's your life worth?" when discussing various guns or ammo. I guess these guys all drive Volvos (supposedly the safest car) and don't eat red meat or smoke or consume alcohol or caffeine. After all what's your life worth. As I see it firearms accuracy varies from gun to gun even in the same model. Anyway I don't let it bother me much. I usually let those go.

No I expect folks to think that way if they have shot more than one brand or style of guns. It reflects real world experience, it's their experience not something they read in a magazine or were told by the village guru.

I am happy if I can keep them all on the silhouette at 15 yards with any of the different handguns. By the way, my patterns are much smaller when using a 1911 or a Beretta 92 than with my Glocks.

The original question can only be answered by really good bulls eye shooters. But then again they usually monkey a lot with their chosen weapons.
