Is Anyone In Your Area Currently Shooting At All?

The sounds of shooting are still as constant and regular as distant train whistles in my corner of the world. And just as comforting.

My sons and I just finished cleaning up from a range trip. Best Christmas Eve ever. Plenty of others out there. It's a relatively new range, my first trip, so not sure how busy it usually is. Of course, it's common for people to be out of town traveling right now.

My neighborhood in NH is quite normal. In fact I was shooting my new mosin nagant yesterday in my backyard range, which got the neighbors shooting their rifles. Sounded like a war zone for a little bit haha.

I havent been to my local range since this all started, but while visiting family in Bryan Tx saturday i went to an indoor range there, they had 10 lanes and everyone of them was full.

Not many of the folks near me go to an official range, it's all shooting on private land/farms. As it's been for the past few years at least, someone is out there shooting every day at some point. Sometimes it's from that way, sometimes it's from over there, but guns are being shot.

Yesterday a little ways up the road someone had their kid out with a .22 nailing cans, don't think they could've been 30 yards off the road and in plain view. Granted we're not in the city here. Don't know what it is, but every once in a while I swear there's a cannon going off.

Went to local range last sunday and it was heaving. Actually lots of dads there with their teenage kids that i'd not seen before. asked how come all out and some replied letting their kids shoot their AR's and AK's in case last time they get to do so at an official range.

regular visitors though were being v conservative in their ammo use because concerned about rising prices

Live in a rural area where Sundays are usually the day you hear most folks out practicing in the back 40, the regulars haven't stopped yet.

went out last week to the woods and fired off 200 rounds of 5.56, 100 12 guage shells and 100 7.62x39 for my sks...i did hold back though only because the ammo shelves are empty at every store.

Christmas day is one of the only two days that the farms closed, so a bunch of us went to the back 40 and shot a bunch. My wife got me to shoot my favorite EBR (Evil Brown Rifle). Repo of a Bakers rifle, the Assault Weapon of the Napoleonic War.:D

We're still hunting, so the shooting season hasn't yet arrived. I'll start shooting in February, getting tuned up for the Spring recreational shooting season.

Wet and cold here and can here both rifle and pistol range activity from my house. Haven't heard anyone shooting but haven't been listening either.

In any event this whole area has thousands of people with gun permits and lots of people who hunt. The only way people around here are going to stop shooting is if they run out of ammo.

Cold here but every day there is shootig at the range here on the ranch. My one hand shooting (Bullseye competitor) is not so good with the cold shivers added to my normal wobble.

I went to the outdoor range here on Thursday and it was wall to wall shooters. Of course, that's half price day.
Two weeks ago, in the rain, it was full also, on the weekend.

Our local public range last day for two months, . . . will be Monday.

Today, . . . 35 deg F, . . . snow flurries on and off all day, . . . they shot until the range closed.

Figure Sunday and Monday will be the same, . . . lots of folks got Christmas presents they cannot use in town, . . . come out here and check em out.

May God bless,
Dwight

Shooting more then ever. Went a few days ago and the past weekend and mid week the week prior. I am thinking of going tomorrow but....We will see?

We're pretty lucky around here. We set up a 500yd range next door with steel targets. Makes it easy to shoot. I live in a rural area and there is gunfire almost any day of the week around here. I haven't been shooting much these days, mostly to oconserve ammo. Have to get cranked up loading again.

Had a bunch of family in town for the holidays and we all went shooting this afternoon. I carried my Del-ton Echo 316/MOE sporting carbine with 100rds, my Ruger Tactical 10/22 with several hundred rounds, and my Mosin Nagant 91/59 with 20rds of wolf ammo. Other dad's in the group brought various other firearms. I shot all my .223 and 7,62x54 and most of my .22lr because I was the only one with any .22lr apparently. Oh well, it was cheap winchester bulk. I have almost 4,000rds of CCI in various flavors, 2,000+ .223, and several hundred 7.62x54 so I could spare a little in the spirit of the holidays. Need to get busy on the reloading bench soon though.
