Iraqi Prisoner Abuse......DETAILS!

When is the international community going to get to the point that no interrogation is allowed at all? If you ask nicely and he doesn't repond, too bad for you. And prisoners? No way! Anyone captured will be barracked with your soldiers and fed and shower at the same place.

We tempt (excuse me, torture :rolleyes: ) prisoners with lap dances. It is against their religion, so we are bad guys. They chop off the heads of the people we send to help them. When will people wake up and realize the complete 180 these situtations are.

You know what? The Iraqi will go home humiliated, but alive and well, probably better off health wise than when he came in. The American comes home in a body bag, if his body is even found.

I simply cannot have any sympathy to those being 'tortured' by the Americans.

Because we all know that information obtained through torture is reliable right? As I said before, perhaps we should believe the confessions beaten out of our pilots? Don't you understand that a government that tortures is criminal?

The mainstream media is warping your minds. They're telling you that torture and evil and death is a good thing. Why do people allow themselves to be lowered?

As a combat veteran of 3 tours in Viet Nam you should realize that things happen in war that are justified that would be intolerable in peacetime.

Oh, that's right. You're not a veteran, combat or otherwise. In fact, you've stated that being a combat veteran is nothing more than a joke to you. My bad. :)
 
If we want to stay morally superior let the felons torture for us.....

Remember what happened to that serial killer in prison and what happens to rapists and child molesters......Give these terrorists to some real criminals and let them know they cheered for 911.......Nature should take it's course.....

PsychoSword-how about confessions forced from our pilots by tight T-shirts and thong underwear hanging from a door? Even assuming it is the official government policy, surely you don't equate that with pulled fingernails and dislocated limbs?
 
I am a Vietnam combat veteran, one extended tour of 14 months in Northern I Corps (2nd Bn, 94th Arty) 69-70. On one occasion, following an alert from the night before (incoming and ground attack against the LZ), a prisoner was taken, looked to be VC not NVA regular. I was selected to guard him with my M16 whilst our battery commander questioned him through a Cambodian interpreter attached to our unit. The VC was sullen and silent, squatting in that way where the knees are bent way in against the chest with the butt almost touching the ground. The captain asked a number of questions about his, the VC's, unit, its strength, its weapons, its plans. All this was dutifully translated into Vietnamese by the interpreter. The VC remained silent. He would not answer any questions.

Now understand, irrespective of what you may have heard, American soldiers for the most part did not engage in torture or mutilation of the dead. There may have been some exceptions, but I never saw a prisoner mistreated, including this one. However, we did have allies in that fight called the ROKs (Republic of Korea) troops. Their way of intelligence gathering from prisoners differed markedly from ours. The captain told the interpreter to tell the prisoner that if he didn't start talking right now and answer questions including a show and tell outside the wire, he would be turned over to the ROKs. The interpreter did so and the VC's eyes got as big a saucers! He started yapping up a storm answering every question asked and he had a lot to say!

I can't vouch for the accuracy of his answers as I wasn't privy to the subsequent assessment of them. I also can't say whether the captain really would have turned the VC over to the ROKs and was using the threat as a bluff. But I can attest to the very real fact that when faced with the possibility of having the ROKs conduct the interrogation, it became a no brainer for the VC.

Our U.S. Vietnam prisoners of war from the Hanoi Hilton have already revealed that the torture they endured caused them to give all the information they had to their interrogators. Moral issues aside, objective reality and the history of man's inhumanity to man would suggest that torture has been effective.

I know I don't, but they do. That's the point, that we are doing things to them that many of them would prefer death to.

They prefer death to living with us on the same planet.
Their whole reason for living is that they prefer death.
They will murder you, your children and your family and glorify themselves if they are killed in the attempt.

Personally, I think that they should all be fitted with pigskin unitards.

The point is. REGUARDLESS of what they BELIEVE, lap dances in g-strings,
is IN NO WAY even REMOTELY the same as dismemberment, beheading, ect.
To make such a statement is rediculous, ludicrous, and sick. Are you people
for REAL!? Its like that stupid PETA commercial a few years ago where they
had the AUDACITY, to put up pictures of dead baby seals, then flash pictures
of murdered and tortured jews in concentration camps! To even SUGGEST
that the two are even REMOTELY EQUAL is ......... well honestly I can't
even think of a word bad enough to describe it.

And for your information, I do happen to be a bible-believing person, but,
with no disrespect intended, if I had a choice in being tortured, between my
interrogators ripping/burning bibles, breaking crosses, ect.....or flaying off
my skin with razors and pliers....well....now thats a no brainer.....it may be
a horrible thing to see, but my faith is not so weak that it changes my
relationship with God for seeing it......get real....there is no comparison.

If you are really SO TERRIBLY CONCERNED for these poor mistreated people,
petition the government to put a few of them under your care, and set up
your basement or spare room for 'em! You can make sure they get nurtured
properly......... :barf:
 
This kind of interrogation is just helping to enforce the terrorist propaganda that this is some kind of religious war. Also, I highly doubt girls rubbing against them in mini-skirts are getting them to spew Zarqawi's location.
 
From their point of view it IS a religous war. We are the infidels. Read their propaganda. See it on Al Jazeera. Watch them praise Allah whilst beheading yet another innocent victim. These people are our enemy. We will deal with them in the only way they understand, we will fight and kill the worst of them before we have to deal with a suitcase nuke placed in a bus station locker in some large American city. Unless, of course, you prefer to live in a 5th century Islamo-fascist theocracy.

any person(man, woman, or child)that attempts to blow up,behead, kidnap,shoot, hijack,torture, or otherwise disrupt American citizens here or abroad and any associates there of........Clear enough for ya?( I left out religion as it really is only "they" that make it into an issue when they claim that God allowed them to blow something up....)

PS Did you ever hear any military commander say publicly(or something like it) "Through the grace of God we blew those sob's back to Baghdad." Even if one was religious and thanx God for going home alive we don't preach it to all..... :rolleyes:
